prestonlancs.com edit

Thanks for your message. Whilst I can understand your frustration, I can only again refer you to the WP:LINKSPAM article where it says,

"Inclusion of one spam link is not a reason to include another. Many times users can be confused by the removal of spam links because other links that could be construed as spam have been added to the article and not yet removed. The inclusion of a spam link should not be construed as an endorsement of the spam link, nor should it be taken as a reason or excuse to include another."

The problem seems to be that your username of "prestonlancs.com" could be taken as your adding links on wikipedia articles to what is presumably your site to advertise the site. And it does say on Wikipedia:Spam -

"Adding external links to an article or user page for the purpose of promoting a website or a product is not allowed, and is considered to be spam. Although the specific links may be allowed under some circumstances, repeatedly adding links will in most cases result in all of them being removed."

Also, so far your only contributions to wikipedia have been to add external links to articles rather than adding content to articles. It does state on the linkspam article, "Adding external links to an article or user page for the purpose of promoting a website or a product is not allowed, and is considered to be spam." which unfortunately is what you come across as doing by having your username as the sites website address and your only contributions being, as I said above, to add links to the site. Just a suggestion (and I may be wrong about this so bear with me) but could you not perhaps use one of the articles (for example the "Tragedy At Deepdale Station" article) on the prestonlancs.com site to verify some content on wikipedia articles, using it as a source (with one of the source templates)? Just a thought? Thanks and if you have any questions just ask. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 20:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't own the copyright to the articles so I can't add them. Anything in the forum or gallery is not a problem. I do not add the link to promote our site (16 referels in April is laughable) I add it to benefit those who do come here to read about Preston.Prestonlancs.com (talk) 04:29, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
