Polarworld, your company edit

In this set of edits you added material to Ragnar Axelsson that showed he had a new book out from Polarworld and that used words such as "superlative" and "remarkable".

First, while I happen to think that the man's work is superlative and remarkable, I don't say so, because this is an encyclopedia. Please don't use such language, unless you are quoting some other source that uses it.

Secondly, your use of the username "Polarworld" is a no-no. See this. (Yes, this is counter-intuitive, as it appears to operate against candour. But read on.)

Thirdly, promotional activities on behalf of Polarworld (no matter how worthy a company this is or how excellent its products) are a no-no. See this.

I strongly suggest that nobody uses this username any more, and that any individual at Polarworld who wishes to edit as an individual should use his or her own, new account, with a disclaimer on their user page, and should edit very cautiously.

(Actually I can and perhaps should block this account, but hope that this indignity will be unnecessary: please avoid it simply by abandoning use of the account here and now.) -- Hoary (talk) 09:22, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:George Lowe 1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:George Lowe 1.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
