Your contributed article, Keith Wainwright MBE

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Keith Wainwright MBE. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Keith Wainwright. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Keith Wainwright - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. User:ConconJondor talk contribs 18:01, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Keith Wainwright, what I've done

edit

What I've done is moved the first article you made to Keith Wainwright and requested the second be deleted. This means that we don't have 2 articles about the same person and it also conforms to the policies about article names (we don't usually use formal names in article titles, see David Cameron, if we were to use his titles, the article name would be The Right Honourable David Cameron BA MP which people don't normally call him by, it's the same with Keith Wainwright, nobody actually says Keith Wainwright MBE, they just say Keith Wainright. I hope this has helped you understand what and why I've done it, and I'd also like to say that the above template about deletion isn't a black mark against your name. Thanks, User:ConconJondor talk contribs 18:07, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've just seen the template and to be honest with you, it's quite tame as deletion articles go, normally they're full of red images and seem quite negative, User:ConconJondor talk contribs 18:08, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Keith Wainwright MBE

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Keith Wainwright MBE requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. bonadea contributions talk 19:58, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Keith Wainright pages, please read this before you create another.

edit

The only page about Keith Wainwright is at Keith Wainwright. I moved the Keith wainwright page you created to here, and nominated the Keith Wainwright MBE for deletion so we don't have 2 articles about the same thing. Please can you only use that page for information about Keith Wainwright. Thanks, ConconJondor talk contribs 21:51, 11 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
