Proposed deletion of an article you created

edit

Hello there. I wanted to let you know that I reviewed your article Daily Bread Co-operative, and unfortunately that I've decided to propose it for deletion from Wikipedia. I've done this because Wikipedia has a standard called notability, which we use to determine whether any given subject merits an encyclopedia article. Notability says that a subject must have received "substantial coverage in multiple reliable sources - i.e., should have been covered by e.g. multiple newspaper articles, books, documentaries, or similar. I've looked online but can't find any evidence that this is the case for Daily Bread.

If you're affiliated with the cooperative and are just looking for a place online to list it, you might be interested in this list of alternative outlets, which includes several sites that will host content for free and don't apply the same encyclopedic standards as Wikipedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. Gonzonoir (talk) 15:18, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hangon

edit

Assuming you are the anonymous editor working on the article about Daily Bread - I've taken the hangon off because there's no speedy deletion called for at present. My tags are for your information - to tell you what needs doing. There was a Proposed Deletion, but that's been taken off so the next step would be Articles for Deletion. Deal with the references WP:RS and tidy up the wording - get rid totally of 'we' and anything that looks promotional. Ask me or any regular if you're not sure. (To spot a regular, look at their contribs which can be accessed from any History listing where they've edited). Peridon (talk) 17:58, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Just a further note on this, since I was the one who placed the prod (proposed deletion tagging). After trying slightly different formulations of the name in Google Book Search there do seem to be a few references after all, so I won't be heading to Articles for Deletion ("AFD") yet. It would be great if you could add those references into the text as you find them so others can verify the information it contains. Apologies if I caused distress with the initial deletion tagging. Not sure if I am posting this reply correctly. But anyway, I am going thro the article and getting references as I find them. I am trying to avoid just listings as there are so many and trying to find useful articles on us.

In regards removing 'we' references the only ones left are in the preamble section, I could leave it as is, as it is correct as a direct quote or I could remove and just use a link to the another source of it on the Daily bread website itself?

Anyway work in process.. Thanks

'We' in a shortish quote is OK so long as it is in "quotes". Only do it if it's a statement that is well-known, or not capable of being paraphrased. And if it doesn't sound like spam... Peridon (talk) 15:11, 3 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
