Need Your Help

Hello. I'm back, but on a part-time basis. Been monitoring some South American airports. I need a favor. Can you watch La Chinita International Airport and Simón Bolívar International Airport as well? Some unknown user from Venezuela keeps adding flags, and I don't want to be 3RR'ed. Thanks. Elektrik Blue (talk) 02:29, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Sure! I'd be glad to help. -chris^_^ (talk) 03:48, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

I saw you reverted the svg logo Image:Cebu Pacific logo.svg, the reason being, it's an old logo. I checked the airline's website, and as far as i can tell, it's exactly the same one, aside from the positioning of the name. the logo currently in use is, according to the guidelines, not that good, for two reasons: 1) it's jpg, and; 2) it includes a slogan. I could correct the positioning on the logo and reupload it, if it will be of any use. if possible, please leave a reply on my talk page. thanks --Ben Stone 07:26, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

NWA MSP-MNL

Okay, apparently NWA did some weird scheduling to confuse me and change all the flight numbers up. But never mind...i was dreaming so I'll shut up now! Audude08 (talk) 16:23, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Anyways, HkCaGu have recently started a discussion at WP:AIRPORTS and apparently that NWA will reshuffle its flights numbers for flights beyond its NRT hub in MAy-June. You are welcome to share you comments. Cheers! Audude08 (talk) 19:11, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Disambiguate Jakarta issue

Hey PikDig! When I first saw that Jakarta had been disambiguated on the Singapore Changi Airport, I also disagree that disambiguating Jakarta is really unnecessary as the only airport with commercial service is Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. But User:Huaiwei keeps implying that Jakarta is served by 2 airports (since Halim Airport is served by cargo, general aviation only) and disambiguating it on the page. I just left it alone and not bother it. I see that you have undid my changes....i also undid my other changes. I still agree with you and Jpatokal think that disambiguating Jakarta is totally unnecessary. Cheers! Audude08 (talk) 05:38, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

PAL Project

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Good to hear! Right now im looking for the news article outlining PAL's Future Fleet plans (back in 2006), I have saved the News Report on my hardrive, but still need to find the online link it originated from! so, It might take some time. In the meantime i'm going to look into the Aircraft Incidents section (Accidents)... Got a few good sites. Cheers! - Hopefully we can get this great article to become featured someday. Lovebus 04:14, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi again, sorry for the late reply, i have been busy lately.. Regarding PAL historic timetables, i dont have any on me right now, but im looking into it. A lot of our family has worked with PAL around the 60s to the late 90's (when they got into financial troubles).. So i might have some lying around that im not aware of. And if i remember clearly, i found a website dedicated to Historic Timetables and airline memorabilia, i will look for it again because it had its own dedicated PAL section!! i lost the link a while back.. so no garuantees. I plan on cleaning up the accidents list soon, just ive been pressed on time. Thanks again, and a bit off topic, but the future of Air Philippines is in the unknown... according to some close friends working in the airlines in Manila, with the recent focus on PAL express (and replacing some of 2P's routes) we might be seeing the loss of Air Philippines at some point. its future is hanging. it could go either way... would be a shame, it would mean the end of the low-riding macho! wala 737, and worse, 737 - Classic! okay, thanks again. keep in contact regarding the Philippine Airlines Project. It deserves at least 'A' status with all the work thats gone into it. Lovebus 14:05, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
hi pikdig, again. Good work and idea with the Philippine Airlines destinations References!!! Finally, we have backed up evidence. Good work! I've currently completed 2 Accident reports to add to the PAL article, they've already been added and completed. It's gonna get harder getting info on the early accidents, but i will try. I've also managed to add refs to a lot of the bits of info regarding PAL in the article too. So it should all work out. Before long we can add the article for a review for A class!! Great work with the destinations! Lovebus 06:15, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi I want to know why you are removing referenced destinations Israel and Kuwait from terminated destinations section, they are listed in the maps you have provided there, heres the one showing Kuwait City http://www.flickr.com/photos/jimyvrroutemap/256962244/in/set-72157594306685057/ and the one showing Lydda http://www.timetableimages.com/ttimages/complete/pr49/pr49-3.jpg. Airport Route Maps

Hi, for the route maps - I use GIS software to make mine, if you're familiar with and have access to GIS software I have more info here. If you're doing a group of regional airports I can offer a short cut though, I can make you a blank map centered on the region and then you can draw in airports and destinations using any graphics software - that's what I did for User:Kawaputra who made the Malaysian airport route maps and I think it worked out pretty well.Kmusser (talk) 13:13, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

The GIS isn't very good at making the curved lines, so you'll want to do that in Photoshop or Inkscape. For world maps there are already a bunch of good blank ones in commons that you could start with. Let me know if you need a regional one.Kmusser (talk) 12:53, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi PikDig, I need your help in understanding why you un did my post against that other users. this users has done this numerous times without reason. what was posted on the article is valid... care to explain?Daltnpapi4u (talk) 02:11, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok I understand what you are referring to. However all information provided had proof of what was added. so then on that note it is justified to have right? Daltnpapi4u (talk) 17:14, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

ABS-CBN Show Not Yet Exist

Hello!! Please be informed that Kapamilya Deal or No Deal has no announcement yet but still under development. But only Deal or No Deal Around the World: Philippine Edition is confirm to be air first before the third season of the said game show. Pinoy Dream Academy: Uber! will replace Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edtion Plus: Uber!. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.69.30.220 (talk) 10:17, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Excuse me? I believe ABS-CBN had already made an announcement that there will be a Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal Season 3, therefore, Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal is classified as a current show. Deal or No Deal Around the World: Philippine Edition is a program of NBC and not that of ABS-CBN therefore it should not be listed. And PDA: Uber! is not a separate show it's a branch of PDA therefore it should not be listed. pikdig (talk) 20:41, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, but ...

Thanks for your improvements to Noroton Heights (Metro-North station), and your change concerning "plexiglas" (in the infobox) was correct except for the fact that it was in quotes, and referred back to a statement quoted in the article. You can't correct spelling within quotes, as some WP:STYLE guide (that I can't find right now) says. On the other hand, this isn't the first time this has happened, so maybe the quote needs to be replaced with something else in that box. It's a little unusual to have a quote in there, anyway. But thanks for improving the article. Noroton (talk) 01:14, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Cebuano Wikipedia

Good day! I've found at your userpage that you are a Native-like speaking Cebuano, and I'm glad to find one here in the English Wikipedia. By the way, I'm palang_hernan, but I'm not very active here in the English Wikipedia.

I would like to invite you to help edit articles in the Cebuano Wikipedia. It is very sad to think that, though running for almost three years already, the Cebuano Wikipedia community has only less than ten members, 30,000 articles (mostly stubs), and the recent changes page puffed up mostly by interwiki bots and less human editors.

I hope you can visit us there, and hopefully help us grow. Thank you! --Palang hernan (talk) 14:08, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

New Bacolod and Iloilo airports

The following airports are not classified by the government as an international airport but only a class 1 airport per CAAP (formerly ATO) guidelines. While Puerto Princesa and Kalibo Airport are classified as an international airport. Please make the necessary correction for it to be factual and as not to misled further researchers. There has already been numerous claims for its international status when it is not so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ariel c nunag (talkcontribs) 23:38, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

An airport with international standards does not qualify it an international airport. The term simply means that the airport is consistent with ICAO standards. Please see the ICAO manual if you have doubts and also the CAAP classification. Both Puerto Princesa and Kalibo airports are reclassified already but not the two airports mentioned. The reclassification is not yet officially posted on the net but was published as a news item. If you want hard copy of the reclassification from the CAAP (formerly ATO) office of the Philippines, email nilocoljr@yahoo.com, and ask for official copy from them. Nilo Colinares Jr. is with legal department of DOTC, mother agency of CAAP, or better yet email CAAP at info@ato.gov.ph.Ariel c nunag (talk) 12:18, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
I think that is an erroneous classification. Its not consistent with DOTC Department Order No. 2008-06. I would recommend rectification on the errors. Its not being factual anymore. I can find you a link of that article regarding the department order from a government website here @ [1] and another one here @ DOTC reclassifies RP's airports. Therefore, as stated, officially, both are not, including that of laguindingan, legaspi and panglao. Puerto Princesa was reclassified 2 years ago. Kalibo was recently reclassified on that order. I hope you are and the rest of us article writers are guided on this one, though i insist you request copy on that D.O. in the interest of fairness to whoever might have introduced and added such misconception. After all we want accurate facts aren't we? If another reclassification is made in the future then we will amend accordingly. In the meantime, lets stick to what it is now. Philippine Airlines Website renewal

Hi Pikdig, the Official Philippine Airlines Website has gone under a total revamp!. ALL the links have been changed around due to this. Its a great new website, but for this wikipedia article to remain sourced we have to update nearly all sources. Sadly this will take some time and work, but if we all work together it shouldnt be hard. Its very rare for them to change the website for a very long time after this though. Its also an advantage that we will have very updated links, so we can submit this article for a review in the future. So i hope. Please do your part if you can, we should all contribute for a better Philippine Airlines article. Lovebus 14:14, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

And why????

and why? why are you always deleting Shenzhen airlines in MCIAA... check this: http://www.shenzhenair.com/... you seem very sure of yourself, how do you know? you're in new york while i'm here in cebu... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.60.235.231 (talk) 15:33, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

zest

I got your point. Just checked the website myself so the fleet part is validated. But the history section is full of speculations. I have to change the history part. The facts are supposed to be factual and accurate as much as possible. Not propose hopes and dreams. If it comes then lets change it. It should also be brief and concise. Remember, you yourself told me that. So lets stick to that principle. Ariel c nunag (talk) 14:41, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

bacolod and iloilo airport

The problem is, the official name of both airports does not even include the word "International". It was merely appended by contributors based on Newspaper reports from local politicians. While I agree with you on the international standard status, I can't go with you on the name. Look, both airports don't even have immigration facilities in the first place. As I was saying, international standard airport is not the same as an International Airport. I suppose you knew the difference too. I would suggest you verify the source from CAAP. Its just an e-mail away. Would that be too hard for you? I hope we stop misleading the public and the world on its real status. We can always change it when its officially re-classified. Think about it! WP:V WP:NPOV Ariel c nunag (talk) 14:56, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Why don't you help me bring this matter to WP:Aviation, being senior at wiki than I am, you are in the best position to request for peer review on the disputed article. In the meantime, I will figure it out how to. Ariel c nunag (talk) 12:38, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I will try to figure it out. Ariel c nunag (talk) 13:16, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
