Your edit to Tariq Aziz edit

Editing on a contested matter with an open RfC is not the best way to demonstrate that you are discussing in good faith. Buffyg 01:54, 29 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Reply to your post to my talk page: because those involved in the discussion on Talk:Tariq Aziz have not been able to come to an agreement on whether Aziz should be called an RfC, someone has resorted to the process used for Wikipedia:Dispute resolution, in this case an RfC, or request for comments. This opens up the matter for comment by the broader community, allowing people who haven't been previously involved in the matter to provide you with their reasoned opinions. This is not the same as being subjected to a majority vote; it's a bit close to accepting amicus curae briefs before a court, allowing a range of views to be presented from a wider range of people than those normally inclined to edit the article or already engaged in the dispute.
