First award of the day

Thank you for your support...
Thank you ever so much, Phaedriel, for your kind words and understanding in my time of need. I deeply appreciate your support, and I hope to be there for you, should you ever need help.

-Dear Phaedriel, thank you so very much for your kindness and support. Because it's now past midnight GMT, this would be the first award of the new day if you were there. I've sent you an e-mail. Love, Kyoko 00:03, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Kyoko

An overdue barnstar has been checked in!

Here's another starry little treasure to add to your collection :).

  Userpage designer/nice userpage Award
I, Carmen, gradually award you Phaedriel this barnstar for your awesome, or rather simply elegant userpage and your sophisticated userpage design distributed to other people! It's a lovely way to spread a seed of kindness, as it blossoms into a USERPAGE :), and the user can enjoy the beauty. You deserve it, Sharon! --Endo(Exo) 00:54, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
When I notice you'd updated your Barnstars page I only saw relatively few barnstars. You've been here for 2 years, and you only have that much? There has to be more overdue :). Did you check you mail? I sent you one (proof at my outbox :) You deserved it!--Endo(Exo) 01:53, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Problem with kd lvr

Kd lvr (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is back to his old games. If you look at his talk page, he is back to attacking me and homer. He has been blocked for this before, I would suggest he receive a long term block (he has had 3 already). He always says we are kids wasting his time, when really, he wasts the most time with his antics.(kdka)--T. Wiki 03:04, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Almost forgot, could you please protect his talk page from him? I'd like him to stop with the attacks. Thanks super, --T. Wiki 03:06, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Some reservations about the Cherokee article

I am still a bit leery of Jeffrey and my difference of ideas, and I'm not sure exactly how to approach it. I wrote up a little paragraph with a series of (6) diffs, which I would like some clarification about. I'm not trying to say that all of the material (or even any of it) belongs in the article, but rather that Jeffrey's removal of cited material in these instances was disruptive and frustrating, and I want to have some idea what, if any, changes he will make in the way he approaches material like this in the future. Anyway, I want to make sure that my presentation is as constructive as possible, and that it is not out of line. So I was wondering if you (and any other interested parties that may watch your talk page) could have a look at it and let me know if it would be appropriate to bring up at Talk:Cherokee. Right now the material can be found at my sandbox (this changes often, so if you find this link next week, you might see something completely different), User talk:Smmurphy/Stream of conscious. Thank you, Smmurphy(Talk) 19:54, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

State terrorism by the United States

Would you considering reducing this to semi-protection? The day or two since it was unprotected, there have been a lot of productive edits by long-term editors; it's mostly been anonymous IPs who have revert-warred (7 reverts). These IPs have never shown up at talk. - Merzbow 21:14, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Actually, its not just the IP's that continue to edit or, and do not want to discuss at talk, or more importantly, work towards a compromise. So, I think, full protection was the right thing to do, unfortunately, given the current circumstances. Otherwise, we'd just have more edit warring with the established accounts, which are split in an unresolved content dispute. At least this forces those to find a mutally agreedable solution and reach consensus.Giovanni33 06:44, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
For these reasons expressed by Giovanni, I'm reluctant to lift the protection or reduce it to semi for the moment. Please, guys, if the problems get solved at the Talk page, feel free to contact me or post a request for unprotection at WP:RFPP, and I'll be glad to review it for you. My RFA

Your kind words are most comforting, and your attitude refreshing, but, rather than being discouraged by my recent RFA, I have been further spurred on to improve myself and better my contributions. I take it not as a blow, but rather as just another step along the way. And, just so you know, Gaff and I were merely discussing image policies - it was infact a disputed speedy deletion tag I had placed on an article. But it doesn't matter; I will work hard over the coming months, and hopefully earn the support of my fellow Wikipedians. It is also good to hear that you got the email I sent you, and that that user is being considered for the Wikipedian of the Day. Kind regards and wishing you a great day, Anonymous Dissident Utter 05:24, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

My god Sharon I need you now

Ok, maybe not as bad as the title suggests ;)

First, welcome back! Anyways, I have been involved in a dispute on the Eagle Talon page, where a user called User:Spoolintsi added images of a heavilly modified facelifted Talon. Now, images of highly modified cars are obviously not allowed, since they would fail in being discriptive of the details of the car. Anyways, me and User:IFCAR, a friend of mine, reverted his edits a few times. So he took to creating a sockpuppet called User:MikeTSIawd, and continued edit warring. I thought that since the accounts were new, I got the page just semi protected. But, the original account got around it, and continued to edit war. They also took to trolling on the talk page, talking about how teh current images disgrace the car. All that aside, Checkuser confirmed that MikeTSIawd is a sockpuppet of Spoolintsi, and all my work to get this taken care of through the systems has gotten nowhere. I can tell from their contributions that they all they done is edit war on the Talon page, and that is all they will continue to do. Pretty much, I am hoping that you will able to do sometthing to end this, so I will not have so sit forever with teh page protected, so this petty dispute can be ended before it gets out of hand. Karrmann 01:31, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Here it is! [1] Karrmann 01:46, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much for the suggestion! I have messaged them both about the situation. I hope that this can ben ended as quickly and as peacefully as possible. I highly doubt though that they would do anything else. If it were up to me, I would indefblock Spoolintsi as well, as edit warring on the Talon page is the only thing he has done as well. Karrmann 02:00, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Wow, those are a lot of e-mail =0. Anyways, I love the userpage you designed for me... but I thinks it's time to let *sniff, sob* let go. I just really want to copy the layout of your userpage. May I? :). Still, I'll always keep the copy of the one you designed for me. --SWEETCARMEN 01:55, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Hmm. This user may be becoming a problem. I will probably see to get Spoolintsi blocked indefinately, since I think that he has now 3 sockpuppets, all used to attack me, edit war, and troll on the Eagle Talon talk page. Oh well, if I see any more of his sockpuppets again, I will just report them to AIV, mark them as vandalism only accounts, and have them quickly blocked. Otherwise, I am going to try what I can to finally stop this guy, as they only blocked him for 24 hours, so tomorrow morning, he will be vandalizing again. But, I know that the page protection for the Eagle Talon page is not going to get removed anytime soon, and after he gets blocked, I will semi protect it in order to keep his sockpuppets from editing it. Karrmann 10:37, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Thank you. I say that they should block his account indefinately, because it is obvious that after he vandalized my userpage, his account is only going to be used for vandalism, trolling, and editwarring. I told another admin who also said something on the page about them when they were trolling them. I told her to simply just revert the edits and block the editer who made them, as they are sockpuppets of Spoolintsi. I simply just want this to be over, I don't want the Eagle Talon page to be a warground forever. Karrmann 10:55, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for putting Spoolintsi out of comission and ending the edit war. I will let you know if he creates any more sockpuppets, or let me know if you spot any more so I can mark them. Thank you! Karrmann 15:34, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
BTW, can you unprotect the Eagle Talon page? Since Spoolintsi and his sockpuppets have all been blocked indefinately, it no longer needs protection. Karrmann 15:42, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
THank you! Though if more Spoolintsi sockpuppets pop up and start editwarring again, It might need to be Semi-protected. Karrmann 15:47, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Alright. it seems that all we can do now for the moment is to watch the page carefully to make sure that he doesn't make any more sockpuppets. I just thought though, you should delete the images he kept trying to editwar into the article. [2] [3] [4]. That way, it will be a lot easier to tell if the account is a sockpuppet of Spoolintsi, as they will reupload the images. Karrmann 20:06, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Q reg inclusion of possible damaging info

Hi again. I've a coupla questions reg an article about an Institution.

1) There is a discrepancy with regard to one of the heads of the departments on the Institution's website. It is specified as one person in a document which is given for accreditation purposes, but in the actual write-up of the department it is mentioned as another staff member. Could this be included in the article or is it too damaging and unnecessary?

2) In February 2005, the students of the institution staged a demonstration and brought the functioning of the institution to a halt. This was reported in all local dailies, however, no references are available on the Net. I have the said newspaper clipping from a leading national daily (The Hindu) and photos of the said demonstration in progress. Again, is it too damaging to be included in the article?

These questions may appear too amateurish - I apologise, if they do. I just had the doubts and couldn't find much in the guidelines for the exact, specific situations. Thanks for your help. aJCfreak yAkBaK 11:18, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Issue

I'm having a problem with an editor on the Walt Disney World Monorail System article. He thinks this is very very good. One of the first problems is having a section header called introduction. The article is very trivial and written like a visitors guide. I put a re-write tag and he takes it off and calls me names on the articles talk page. Here, you will find what I have done to the article. I think it is much better than whats there. But he will go revert it, so if you think that my version is better and should be the one on the article, please tell him and explain WP:OWN. Thanks super, have a wonderful day --trey 20:26, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Phaedriel, your rating seem to be set permanently on melancholic. Ther must be many, many editors who are distressed by this, as you are in my view the most lovable person on wikipedia. You're the most wonderful friends in the whole wide world, all of you, guys. You make me feel better just by being there, by seeing you like busy bees with your editing, by coming here and being silly with me for a moment, by talking among us about anything at all. Please, don't worry about me; my problems may sadden me a little, but they're so ridiculously insignificant when compared with those of so many people, including many good Wikipedians, that I don't deserve this much attention and kindness because of them. The moodmeter was intended to show why I may not be as talkative as usual, that's all; and every time dark clouds appear on our sky, a beautiful and shiny day always follows.
