Climate change probation edit

Thank you for your contributions to the encyclopedia! In case you are not already aware, an article to which you have recently contributed, Global warming, is on article probation. A detailed description of the terms of article probation may be found at Wikipedia:General sanctions/Climate change probation. Also note that the terms of some article probations extend to related articles and their associated talk pages.

The above is a templated message. Please accept it as a routine friendly notice, not as a claim that there is any problem with your edits. Thank you.

So to answer a question you asked over at Talk:Global warming - you should be able to edit there after four days and ten edits, though as evidenced by the above boilerplate, talking over any potentially controversial changes is a very good idea. A few articles attract large numbers of people interested only in saying "hello" or leaving strings of nonsense characters just to see if they can. Preventing new and unregistered users from editing certain articles (though obviously the talkpages remain open) is a compromise between anyone can edit and not compelling regular editors to spend all day fixing such vandalism. Your recent edits edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 07:40, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

GW edit

Could you please rewrite Talk:Global warming#warming from pre-industrial times to 1950, I'm confused as to what's wrong, and I'd appreciate if you'd clarify that. ChyranandChloe (talk) 08:50, 17 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Looks clear enough to me. I've answered there William M. Connolley (talk) 10:49, 17 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
