G'day, the text that you removed from Khojaly Massacre contained an academic citation, which is used to verify the statement. As a result, I have undone your change. In future please do not remove text from wikipedia, unless you are sure it is in error, after having consulted with the cited material and other reliable sources. G'day mate. There is a big difference between Russia and USSR. That military base was ex-USSR base, but not Russian and was not controlled by Russian military. Using the word "Russian" is per ce acusing Russia in this massacre, what's wrong. That was the main point.

Hi. With regard to your edit to Khojaly massacre and the role of 366 regiment. This regiment was serving under the banner of the Russian Federation. However many of the servicemen were ethnic Armenians, such as the current minister of defense of Karabakh Armenians, who was at the time the commander of one of the batallions in the regiment. Some of non-Armenian soldiers of this regiment became mercenaries on the Armenian side. So while actions of this regiment were not endorsed or ordered by the Russian leadership, the negligence or corruptness of some high rank officers resulted in a situation when military units of former Soviet and later Russian army became involved in conflicts in the territory of former USSR. Sad reality of that time. Take care. Grandmaster (talk) 09:56, 8 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thanks for your response. According to the agreement that was sighned to "bury" the USSR troops and military equipment in the territories controled by the new states belonges to new states (exept nuclear weapons and some strategic bombers). So by that time it was not Russian forces and, as you said, they were not controlled by Russia (the first military base after USSR collapse was open by Russia in Armenia in 2006). So as a matter of fact despite it was ex-USSR base and some of the solgiers could be ethnic Russian there was no forces controlled by the Russian military command in the area. The flag on the camouflage can be bought in many shops. It does not mean anything.
