Speedy deletion nomination of Argon 18

edit

A tag has been placed on Argon 18, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Removing Speedy at Argon 18

edit

Hi there Pendonx! I saw that you added a {{hangon}} tag to a page which you created, Argon 18. This is good, but in the process you removed the tag requesting deletion under CSD G11. Even though there is a hangon on the page, the deletion template should remain there. But don't worry, this doesn't mean that the page is going to get deleted. Make sure you edit the talk page of the page nominated for deletion, located at Talk:Argon 18, administrators will look at your reason why the page should remain before they decide what to do. Thanks - SDPatrolBot (talk) 20:57, 28 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Status and Advice

edit

As reviewing administrator, I deleted the article. The problem is that your say how great the bikes are, instead of describing it. Such sentences as "Argon 18 has now fully established itself as renown for class, precision and speed." do not belong in an encyclopedia . Additionally, you need references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. The ideal references for purposes would be reviews of the bikes in cycling magazines. If you can find them, rewrite the article, making sure you put in the references from the first and dod not use any promotional language ., nor copy anything from your website without giving formal permission, according to WP:DCM. Please also see our FAQ about businesses, organizations, and articles like this. DGG ( talk ) 21:54, 28 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Argon 18

edit

The article Argon 18 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

fails WP:N, unreferenced, reads like an ad

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Flyguy649 talk 16:57, 12 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 22:13, 13 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
