Aafia Siddiqu edit

Ok, I won't fight you on this - you gave an informative edit summary. It is good that you tracked down the original inserter of this information as an IP editor. I do think the information is true though. I agree it should not be in the article, especially the lead, without a cite attached. --Regards--KeptSouth (talk) 10:47, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Uh - 7 months from conviction to sentence is a long time, that is the part that I think is relevant - but the fact that the sentencing hearing was delayed a couple of times is not unusual. KeptSouth (talk) 10:53, 12 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Taraneh Mousavi and Evin Prison edit

I fail to understand why you're defending this claim that Taraneh Mousavi was in Evin Prison. The one and only source for this is a blog posting by someone who cites no reference for this "fact". As opposed to this, none of the other sources on the story say that she was in Evin prison. If you don't read Persian, here is an English source for you: http://maryamnamazie.blogspot.com/2009/07/they-raped-killed-and-burnt-body-of-our.html On the veracity of the Taraneh Mousavi story itself, see the Wikipedia entry under her name, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taraneh_Mousavi. --Kind regards-- QLineOrientalist (talk) 12:48, 13 Novemember 2010 (EST)

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
