A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Backyard Football League, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Hi Payton! Thanks for your message on my talk page (and welcome to Wikipedia!). I just wanted to let you know that the reason I proposed this article for deletion is not because I have anything against it, or because I have a league of my own (I don't, but if I did it would probably be for soccer, as I live in the UK). Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and there are certain policies which decide what articles are here. It appeared to me that your football league was not notable, which is why I proposed it for deletion. The notability guidelines say that a subject should have received significant coverage from reliable sources, like newspapers, books or on the web. Although it is unlikely that your article meets the notability criteria at the moment, there are lots of other wikis at List of wikis which don't have the same policies, which might be a good fit for your article. Alternatively, you could try Wikia which is a Wiki community started by Jimmy Wales, who also started Wikipedia. You could also start your own personal wiki or use wiki software to make a wiki on the web. If there's anything I can help you with, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! -- Kateshortforbob 10:01, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
