Claire Danes edit

edit

I have reverted your addition of a date of birth to Claire Danes. Please see WP:WHYCITE about the need for citing sources in general. Also, WP:BLPPRIVACY explains the specific need for a date of birth of a living person to be cited. You are welcome to add a date of birth as long as it is accompanied by a citation to a valid source. January 25 Claire Danes edit

Thanks for finding sources for the date of birth in Claire Danes. Unfortunately, IMDb is not reliable (see WP:IMDB), but Britannica should be okay, (I'm not sure about the reliability of celebritynetworth.com.)

For future addition of content to articles, please remember that the material needs an inline citation to support it. That makes the source readily visible to anyone who reads the article. If you put sources only in edit summaries, the addition appears unsourced in the article. I have added the date of birth to the lead and added a citation to Britannica there. (The infobox is supposed to show highlights of items in the article, not have standalone contents.)

Also, I replaced the text form of the birth date in the infobox with a "Birth date and age" template, I suggest that you use that template in the future when you add a date of birth to an infobox. The template shows "April 12, 1979 (age 42)" in the article, just like what you typed. The difference is that when April 12 comes this year, the template will automatically update to show her age as 43. With the straight text form, someone would have to manually change the age. Greetings. These are user-generated sites you've brought up, which are not permitted as sources on Wikipedia. IMDb also falls into that category. For a truly reliable source on her birthdate, you would need something where she confirms it herself (possibly on social media) or other established websites.
