Username block and image deletion

edit

Three points.

  1. You're being blocked as your Wikipedia:Username (see that link) is too close to that of a well-known living person, namely Paul Fromm. From the defamatory image on your userpage, I would somehow venture a guess that is not actually you. Feel free to create a new user name, or apply to have this one changed, but before you do, please consider that we are here to make a neutral point of view encyclopedia, not attack people. That leads me into the second point.
  2. Per Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons we're not here to defame, make fun of, or otherwise attack people. Just write the facts - if the people deserve making fun of, the facts will speak for themselves. Therefore, I'm also deleting the doctored defamatory image on that userpage. We don't do that.
  3. Image:Mgandpf.jpg is uploaded under a "fair use" comment, but a GFDL template. They're not the same things. Wikipedia:Fair use is a very restricted concept here, usually only allowed for landmark images, that just can't be replaced by a completely free image with the same value, for example Image:Inselian.jpg. Your image seems to be valuable to show Melissa Guille and Paul Fromm, but since they are living figures showing up in public events - protests, demonstrations, etc. - fairly often, as well as Fromm being a free speech activist, who could quite possibly make one of his own images completely free if merely asked nicely, it should not be impossible for us be able to get a completely free image. Also, I admit, the upper two points do make me somewhat skeptical of your motives. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 14:52, 30 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
