Wikisource?

edit

Thank you for creating the Lakshmi Stuti By Indra and Narad Bhakti Sutra articles. Please consider formatting them according to the guidelines and most importantly, add links and provide context, explanation, etc. to the them. Articles dealing only with sources and their translations should be transwikied to Wikisource. Thank you. --Zoz (t) 21:13, 5 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Zoz. Actually these are not texts. They are very well-known prayers in Hinduism. They are more of a common knowledge now than a book or any thing. I addition, I have provided links, introductions, translations (in my own words), and should be adding more citations, details about these articles soon. Pankajwillis 15:08, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

OK, that will be fine, however I think it would be even better to have the original Sanskrit text copied to wikisource from the article (keeping the article of course), and have it linked from the article. Using Template:Wikisource ( just type {{wikisource}} ), it's easy to link source text from a wikipedia article. See the Epic of Gilgamesh article for example, where the article deals with the background, context, history, modern references, etc. and the source is linked using Template:Wikisource near the end of the wikipedia article. It produces a link like this:

Wikisource has original text related to this article:

Smart pointers

edit

You said: "Although this page is not for discussing C++ but Auto pointers are a part of the ISO C++ standard published in 98. Smart pointers are not a port of the C++ standard."

This is correct, though they are part of Technical Report 1. They are available for just about every C++ compiler and the talk on the town is that smart pointers are guaranteed acceptance into C++0x with basically no changes. They also have pretty significant advantages over auto_ptr, including the ability to store them in the std containers, though you probably know about that already. --Yamla 21:25, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Yamla. I noticed that. I'm also new to Wikipedia and certainly learning the process. You sound like a good Programmer yourself Pankajwillis 21:43, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I try. I have a fair amount of experience in C++ and used to teach the language to undergrads at my university (just in the lab, though, not as a professor). That was around the 1998 standardisation, though, and C++ post 1998 is radically different (and much more powerful) than before. I really enjoy C++, though I don't imagine it is the perfect language. It does some things so exceptionally well but other areas are much more work than they should be.  :) Welcome to Wikipedia. I think you'll enjoy it here. --Yamla 22:03, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Prahlad Ji Story from Sri Vishnu Purana

edit

The article Prahlad Ji Story from Sri Vishnu Purana has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non-encyclopaedic, non-English work, that is unsourced and unable to be hosted at Wikisource

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:05, 3 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
