This is a message for Wikipedians who come to my talk page to discuss an article for deletion (AfD).

If it was me who put the article up for deletion, don't come here to argue with me. Do that in the AfD page. I will consider private messages of that kind as harassment.

The same applies if I voted to delete the article. Again, if you disagree, state your opposition in the AfD page, not here.

If I didn't vote, but closed the AfD and deleted the article, bear in mind that I'm not responsible for the consensus reached in the AfD poll. Once the consensus is more or less clear that an article is to be deleted, if I pass by the AfD page I will delete the article. That's my job, so to speak. In such a case, I may have no say on the discussion. Your arguments should be taken to the AfD page, not to me. If you don't understand how this works, please read the deletion policy and the deletion guidelines for administrators, as well as the related articles linked from those.

If you feel that your article has been deleted in error, you can recreate it. Of course, if it's exactly the same article as before, it will be speedily deleted. So try to understand why it was deleted, so as not to make the same mistake.

Wikipedia has grown to become a sort of global billboard where everybody thinks they can place anything, but that's not the case. So think twice before harassing or insulting an administrator or another editor that took part in your article's AfD. They could be wrong, of course, but then it might be that your article was not meant to exist in Wikipedia.
