Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Hi Barek, I understand the policy with the external links. I have only been trying to update the financial information of various company pages, and I have been citing my source via a financial research tool. For instance, the AES Corporation page has company information that is from 2010 (specifically the revenue, operating income, net income, total assets, and total equity on the right-hand sidebar.) How may I update this information properly without violating Wikipedia's policy? I have been gathering this information from a financial research source that provides access to SEC filings. I notice that many of Wikipedia's financial sources do not link directly to the SEC (e.g secdatabase.com and wikinvest.com to name a few,) so I did not think these links would be an issue. I am not trying to tamper with existing sources; I am merely attempting to update the data that is outdated. Thank you for notifying me about the policy guidelines; I hope this issue can be resolved moving forward. Ozarkk (talk) 19:21, 24 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Spamming

accounts

It has become apparent that your account is only being used for spamming inappropriate external links or self-promotion, so it has been blocked indefinitely. Wikipedia is NOT a "repository of links" or a "vehicle for advertising" and persistent spammers will also have their websites blacklisted.
