Wow! You took absolutely the hardest one on the list and made it fantastic! On top of that, you sharpened up the article! You have my immense respect, thank you!--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 02:35, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

1. As the country will split in six months, may I put File:Sudan Boy Scouts Association.png→svg on the top of the list?

Apparently the Sudanese Scouts changed their emblem in 2008 to adopt the new World Scouting brand logo. They also seem to call themselves "Sudan Scouts Association" in this document. I can recreate the new logo from the brand manual of the World Scouts. All Sudanese scouts websites seem to not exist anymore, and there domains are up for sale. But I could find some Facebook pages and saved pages in the Wayback Machine for a couple of their groups. Maybe you can see if there's something at these links to flesh out the Sudan Scouts article. Here are links for the Sudanese Air Scouts [1], [2], [3], on Facebook, and recreation of their logo is possible. Links for the Sea Scouts on Facebook, logo here and here. I've also found a great historic photo that could be uploaded, hopefully to Commons (after I check if it's in Public Domain). -- Orionisttalk 14:35, 31 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks again for the great legwork! South Africa and Mexico also changed to the corporate branding, but still maintain the local badge. Don't want the purple one, need the green one. Thank you though for your hard work there. That old photo is great, but we need a source. I have been trying to find out more on that Atbara troop.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 11:47, 1 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Apparently the Sudanese are using their old badge much less than other countries. For example I found out that Syria has also adopted the corporate branding, but they still keep their badge and displayed on the pocket below the corporate. But there's no trace for the old badge on the Sudanese kits in photos from recent events (e.g. here and here) although it pops up in an award and an ad. As for the Atbara troop image, we have to find out the country of first publication (I tried and failed). If it's Sudan or Egypt, then we might be lucky (protection only for 25 years after publication), not so much if it's the UK. But I guess you could upload it as Fair Use either way. Finally I hope you don't mind but I moved the Sudan article to Sudan Scouts Association after I saw it called by that name during all my search (e.g. these images). -- Orionisttalk 18:19, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yeah and by the way, this is  DoneFile:Sudan Scouts Association.svg. Regards! -- Orionisttalk 18:23, 2 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

That's stunning, so much better, thank you! And thank you for all the legwork! The move is no problem, we had to move Vietnam half a dozen times. I have fixed the links. Now, we do have the World Crest that all Scouts wear, that is different than the rectangular website banners passing for badges the past 3 years. Personally I hate that countries are giving up their distinct badges for the generic corporate one, and I am suspicious of what's going on backstage there. You may later be able to sell me on this when I have more time. Meanwhile thank you so much!
Looking at your earlier version, it's too bad we can't use it, it's much nicer with that crisp, linear font. Always liked that one in the tilework.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 14:07, 4 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I was going for that one at first, but since all images of the badge I could find display exactly the same hand-writing style, I thought maybe it had special meaning (hand-writing of the Sudanse founder or something). If it turns out there's no such thing, we can easily revert to the earlier version. -- Orionisttalk 17:28, 4 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Turns out Somaliland has Scouts separate from Somalia, I've begun to send out feelers but that will be a while.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 12:54, 3 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
