One000, mass reverts without articulating the reasons for the revert simply fuel accusations of edit wars. Edits on a controversial article should be discussed constructively on the basis of the content and the RS. When a user does this on the first edit, then this immediately raises flags about the account. This is not helpful. -- TerryE (talk) 12:55, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately we had an edit conflict. When I said "please see talk page", this was an indicator that I was about to explain myself. -- TerryE (talk) 13:10, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Becoming a active editor on WP is a long uphill learning curve. My suggestion is that you first do your research by reading the various WP beginners introductions such as the WP:Introduction, and also take an interest and contribute to some non-controversial articles. That way you can learn the ropes without getting your head blown off by some editors who have grown intolerant of newbies. You should also register an email address and set up watch lists so that you can track changes and be notified when you choose to do so. -- TerryE (talk) 13:41, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppetry case

edit

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Byanose for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page. Keepcalmandcarryon (talk) 14:47, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you log on you will see from your Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Byanose case that you have now been blocked by an administrator because the investigation has found you operating multiple accounts. To understand what this means, please see Wikipedia:Blocking policy, Wikipedia:Appealing a block and Wikipedia:Guide_to_appealing_blocks. However, my personaI view is that the chances of a successful appeal are low, so for your "crime" of deciding to start your WP editing on a controversial article you are now effectively banned indefinitely from editing on WP. However, if you wish to try then the appeals process is there for you to use. Sorry. -- TerryE (talk) 01:33, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

your reason here Why have I been blockedOne000 (talk) 09:06, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

No reason given to unblock. As you have contributed in the SPI dicussion relating to your block, your question is, to say the least, disengenuous.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 12:08, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

your reason here It was only meant as a reasonable request. Unfortunatley I now have to say that I have to share computers in several locations. I was not deliberately attempting to disrupt anything. I would very much like to help edit pages as I can see plenty of areas that are needing more information. This is still all new to me and it is confusing why you have the set up you do, but I am prepared to learn and get things right. Is there anything I can do to help that? I could always only edit when I have access to one particular machine.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information.  Sandstein  20:08, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
