Sustainable city / Ecocity edit

I saw that you removed the merge tags on the Sustainable city article and turned a redirect for "Ecocity" into an article. Please note that Wikipedia editorial decisions are made by consensus. There was a discussion about the merges, and some decisions made. Not that decisions cannot be changed. However, when a number of editors have discussed a particular subject, that carries weight and should not be unilaterally ignored or overturned. I have moved your text on "Ecocity" back to the Sustainable city talk page for now. You would be welcome to join the discussion. Sunray (talk) 17:18, 9 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your point about the difference between an "ecocity" and existing cities that call themselves "sustainable cities" is a good one. Now that we have respected the first decision (i.e., to combine the articles), I think it may be time to reconsider, based on what you have said. I've put a note to that effect on the Sustainable city talk page. I'm wondering if you would help out with finding citations. I also think that we should establish a better definition: something along the lines of "cities built according to ecological principles," and distinguish ecocities from eco-municipalities and "sustainable cities."
