Welcome

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent edits, such as the ones to the page Malia Obama, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so on Wikipedia:Sandbox rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributor's help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. You have just vandalized that page, not me. Your own page doesn't have an "edit this page" tab so I can't tell you to stop

Malia Obama edit

See this discussion for compelling reasons to leave it as a redirect. The situation has not changed since then. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 04:08, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

The page says that in May 2008 she was a delete. Since then, many articles have been written about her with her being the main subject (Not the President). She is also the First Daughter now, not a minor candidate's daughter for a candidate that was trailing behind Hillary Clinton

Your recent edits edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 04:12, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

October 2009 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Malia Obama. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 04:14, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

You (user:Republican) are in both an edit war AND vandalizing so you could be blocked. Please stop now. You have prevented others from writing on your personal page so consider this your warning. Please stop.

If you do not stop restoring the Malia Obama article, you will be blocked. UA 04:31, 23 October 2009 (UTC) I HAVE INFORMED UA OF THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE YELLOW BOX OF THE DISCUSSION PAGE OF MALIA OBAMA. UA HAS REMOVED/HIDDEN MY MESSAGE. THE YELLOW BOX SAID TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE NOMINATING IT FOR RE-DELETION. THE BOX DIDN'T SAY TO READ THE BOX TO RESTORE IT.Reply

Maybe the box was poorly worded (also, while I've got your attention: sign your edits using the ~~~~ thing).
Anyway, you're not an autoconfirmed user yet, so you can't edit ANI for now. Until you can, I'll set up a section below which lets you participate from here. Master of Puppets 04:54, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I just remembered that I can manually bypass that editing restriction. You should be able to edit ANI directly now; sorry for not thinking of that earlier! Master of Puppets 04:54, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
No problem, hopefully this helps out. I know what you mean, too; it's a bit puzzling that year-old decisions have that much importance. A great way to do this would be to create a subpage (for example, User:October 22 2009/Malia Obama) and work on the article there. An easy way would be to copy the old article's text and expand on that with recent information. A big help is including reliable, verifiable sources (i.e. CNN) to support the claim that Malia is sufficiently notable now.
Of course, if you need any help with any of this, just let me know at my talk page! Master of Puppets 05:02, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

ANI participation edit

Comment between the <includeonly> tags and it will show up on ANI. Master of Puppets 04:49, 23 October 2009 (UTC) Reply

I just realized I can manually set your editing level. You can comment at ANI directly now. Master of Puppets 04:54, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I was writing the briefest response to make it easier for you. October 22 2009 (talk) 04:56, 23 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
