Your edit to atorvastatin is unhelpful. Apart from formatting errors (see WP:MOS) you are also using a redirection template to push a controversial book that might be notable elsewhere, but not where you linked to it. Please familiarise yourself with basic Wikipedia policy that differentiates it from a random blog:

  • WP:NPOV - present all information in a neutral fashion
  • WP:NOR - use only facts that are well-established; don't innovate information
  • WP:V - all content should be verifiable

I do not feel that the judgements I read in your message are informed. In the subtitle: Adverse Effects, a listing of a text by medical researcher and member of www.thincs.org Anthony Colpo, is precisely the listing that may save the lives of many Iatrogenically prescribed Lipitor users.
I have met and discussed the adverse effect issue with the VP of research at Pfizer, as he was a featured alum at our University last March. If you feel that the book is controversial, you would need to be aware of Mr. Colpo's background as a researcher and his own family history. As to not allowing entries that provide readers of Wikipedia with options and other informed (ex: Colpo) opinions, you are defending a party who requires constant vigilance to ensure that they are not in violation of their responsiblity to the users of their medication. See: http://usasearch.gov/search?input-form=simple-firstgov&v%3Aproject=firstgov-web&query=pfizer+warning&x=43&y=9
I have witnessed four members of my family harned by this medication. I will not be cowed by any assertion that the rules of Wiki protect your interests, when they serve to support irresponsible promotion, (in the case of Pfizer), over the interests of all contributors. Stating that the input was wrongly placed is an editorial decision, you have expressed.
Your work, your endeavors, should be to make such information available to all who need it.
I encourage you in this endeavor. Know that it is my purpose as well.

Please do not email me unless the information is too sensitive to discuss on-wiki. We do not need THINCS to give us a list of side effects; the product information sheet lists all those that are important. I do not think we can regard THINCS as a neutral source on this, as they question the very link between cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. Mr Colpo's standing or his family history are not of relevance here. Obviously I am not defending "a party who requires constant vigilance". That is a nefarious attitude that is unhelpful. Wikipedia is not a Pfizer Watch tool - it is an encyclopedia. I was hoping that the policies quoted above would set you straight. If you have family members who got ill while on this drug, do you think you are impartial here? JFW | T@lk 16:43, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have asked you to keep our conversations on-wiki if possible.
You sent me the amended PI for atorvastatin. The additions mentioning the IDEAL and TNT studies sound interesting, but I don't know if it really changes the shape of the article. Again, it is not Wikipedia's job to "inform potential users" in the way a doctor needs to counsel every patient who gets prescribed medication.
What are you actually trying to achieve? JFW | T@lk 16:28, 25 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
