Started new page, will be adding links, quotes, editing references and adding related pages over the next few days. Oatmealo (talk) 12:45, 12 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I haven't felt like the title is precisely right for this article, I've been considered retitling it "sovereign common law," "common law sovereignty," "common law pleading and practice," or "common law practice." As I think about it, the very last one is actually probably the right title to use. This article I am putting together relates very strongly to Common law movement of which there is no article (though it is listed in Common law (disambiguation), but I am quite less familiar with the "movement" itself, but very knowledgeable of the actual practice of common law in that movement. Okay, I think that is what I will do with this article: This article will definitely add making the topic of common law much less ambiguous; I will change the title from "Applied common law" to "common law practice" (as it explains the actual practice of common law within the common law movement), and add a link to Common law (disambiguation), and within this "Common law practice" article add a link to the Common law movement and let someone more familiar with that topic work on that.

If anyone passing through these pages has any suggestions, please, please, please pass along any suggestions to make this article the best that it can be. Oatmealo (talk) 04:49, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Just shout out of thanks to another editor for their input, I tried now to make it now very clear at the opening of the article that this is not the popular perspective of legal professionals today, and I will work in coming days to add much greater clarity to the references too. Thank you! Oatmealo (talk) 00:45, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Added a bunch of references to the section explaining history and unlimited jurisdictions. Not sure how to title the very last section on "other texts," but this article is a work in progress and I'm sure I'll refine it over time. I think I should look further at some other articles to use as a structural guide. Overall I think everything so far, and specifically the references explained so far are reasonably easy to understand. As always, I'd most certainly be grateful for any input from others passing through. Oatmealo (talk) 11:20, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
