Hello, Novademon2010. I am impressed that your father has noticed the arrival of his Wikipedia biography so speedily! As to why it's needed, if he goes here he will see that he is cited in quite a number of articles on the English Wikipedia. When considering how seriously to take a citation, it is useful to be able to click on an author's name and read something about him or her. If your father looks at my user page, he will see that I have started quite a number of articles here about other historians. I believe that began with my page on the Cambridge Modern History, where several of the blue-linked names are articles I have created. And yes, I am a Moonraker.
