Hollywood and Plagiarism edit

Please stop recreating the Hollywood and Plagiarism article. Not only is it Original research, but the very idea is ridiculous, since the movies you list are based on other sources, and if you wanted to accuse them of plaigiarism, you would have to make that accusation against the original source material, not the movies. But you don't even give us even the briefest of explanation as to how the material is similar, let alone plaigiarism, which it couldn't be, since the mythology you cite is public domain. User:Zoe|(talk) 05:07, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I didn't say leave, I said please stop recreating the article. It's entirely original research and merely your own opinion. User:Zoe|(talk) 19:12, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

You'll probably know this by now, but he's created the article again. I didn't realize when I nominated it for deletion that it had been deleted before. Anyway… --Johann Schlinker 21:00, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I see that you have blanked the article Hollywood and Plagiarism in response to the proposal of its deletion. In the future, please place the {{db-author}} template at the top of the article to clearly indicate that you request the article to be deleted. As was mentioned elsewhere, check out the WikiProject on Indian films and see how you can work with them to expand the coverage on the subject. —C.Fred (talk) 13:20, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

List of Hindi films edit

Hey, I saw the new article you created. I don't think we need it because that means we will have a majority of the list full of reds. Half the Hindi movies don't even have articles. I mean we have a category for all Hindi language films, and i think it is much easier for users as they have a whole list of films which actually have articles on them. I'll get some more opinions on the article. Pa7 19:09, 5 August 2005

Please stop making lists! edit

Niro, your lists are not useful. You don't get to decide which films are good or bad, or what category they would fall into. Please join the Indian cinema wikiproject and discuss things with the other editors there, rather than trying to go it completely alone. This is a group project. Zora 08:59, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

LIST OF HINDI FILMS edit

Zora i think that we need the complete list of all the films so the entire world could search for preferences.and it will make the indian cinema visible and much more clear to the world .thats the reason i have been creating the entire list of films step by step .we don't have to create everything at the same time but it will take time to create .lets create little by little.then if we get all the movie titles lets start creating the movie database for the movies that are not created it will be good idea.if we don't have anything like list it will be very hard for everyone to take a quick look at all the movies that indians have made.so please let me concentrate on these lists and you guys also could help me whenever you want.please

Categories are better than lists edit

Niro, you just ignore the rest of us telling you to stop and soldier on. You're new here and you don't understand how things work!

It doesn't help anyone in the slightest to create lists composed primarily of red links that no one is going to fill out. It will work a lot better if you just start creating entries for films that you like and then add a category at the bottom. That automatically adds it to the relevant categories. That way you're adding real information to the encyclopedia.

It's a lot more work than just listing things, but it's useful work, not busy work. Zora 19:37, 6 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:HeyRam.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:HeyRam.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Tamil films edit

Hello Nirojan and thanks for the contributions. I applaud your efforts at making Tamil films a better article. However, the screenshots that you've uploaded do not have the right tag for copyright. Fair use of images is a major problem on Wikipedia and is currently being discussed as a major issue for reform. I ask that you please go over all of the images that you uploaded [1] and redo the copyright tags to indicate that they are screenshots, and to indicate the source where you obtained the screenshot (i.e. took the screenshot yourself, uploaded it from a particular URL, etc.) If this isn't done within 7 days of the upload, the images will be deleted per policy.

Many thanks -- Samir धर्म 06:41, 11 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Moved articles back edit

I moved Bollywood, Bollywood and plagiarism, and List of popular Bollywood films BACK to where they were before you unilaterally changed the names of the articles. Please don't move them back. "Bollywood films" gets 10,700,000 google hits, or ghits; "Hindi films" gets 5,600,000 ghits. Bollywood is the most common term! Non-Indians are most likely to look under Bollywood. Stub types edit

If you are the person creating many, many stub articles for Indian films, please help other editors by:

  • Tagging stub articles on Indian films with {{India-film-stub}} rather than {{film-stub}}, and
  • Only creating articles which you are willing to come back and expand, rather than leaving a trail of tiny stubs for everyone else to have to fill out.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
