User talk:Nina717/Rickettsia rickettsii
Not much here
editHey group members, you'll need to add some significant material to your sandbox before Thursday's class on 10/5. One topic to consider is how the bacterium is cultivated in the lab (it's pretty hard!). You'll find several primary articles on how labs are trying to just grow the bacterium. Sources
editMake sure that you have enough reliable sources for the topics you added to your sandbox. I didn't see any citations/links yet for the information you added. Make sure that the sources that you have in your bibliography align with the material you added so you are giving credit to the appropriate article. crl89512. 11:21, 4 October 2023. Italicize the genome name
editI noticed that not every genome name was italicized. One example of this is under the clinical manifestation section. the R. in R. rickettsii should also be italicized. Oblivious2 (talk) 13:50, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you! The name of the bacteria has been made consistent throughout now. 66.253.220.24 (talk) 16:02, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

C. perfringens Group Peer Review
editHello classmates, this is a peer review written by yours truly, C. perfringens group. Firstly, I think your group has done a great job finding supporting evidence and properly adding the in text citations. Also, the organization flows really well and makes for a coherent article that is easy to read. Just a few suggestions we found might be helpful for you all. First, we would really like to see information for motility because, as we understand, R. rickettsii is non-motile and uses its host to travel. It may be useful to specify this in the article near the beginning (lead section). Jumping off this idea, we also thought it may be interesting to add a section discussing the obligate intracellular relationship this microbe has with its host. The “Around the World” section seems redundant to us and would probably be more appropriate as a subsection under the “History” section. Finally, we think that the “Antibiotics” and “Laboratory Confirmation” sections could greatly benefit from some references and supporting evidence.
I hope our feedback will be useful for future edits, great job so far! Microb3 Mans (talk) 22:57, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
- I added "Around the World" as a category under "History" and renamed it "On a Global Scale" to include incidents. Supergirl02 (talk) 16:19, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
Late Signs and Symptoms
editThis subsection is vague, there is not many details surrounding each symptom and possible mechanisms behind the observed symptoms. Furthermore, what is meant by "late stage"? Is there specific timings involved with the associated symptoms? Are the always present with this microbe or do they vary wildly? Microb3 Mans (talk) 23:06, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
Possibly add a section for incidents
editIf you want to give more info, you could possibly add a section for notable incidents of Rocky Mountain spotted fever that is caused by this bacterium. Khiya04 (talk) 20:39, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
- I added this as a subcategory of "On A Global Scale" under the "History" section. Supergirl02 (talk) 16:18, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
