Ones hard work edit
In general, no, one can't protect ones work from being edited by others - that is the very nature of a wiki in which all material is released under a free GFDL license, as it states at the bottom of all editing pages "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed for profit by others, do not submit it."
Of course if your edit is good, follows NPOV and is well cited then unlikely be significantly lessened by other editors. Obvious vandalism may of course be reverted, and if you disagree with a future edit, it may always be reverted by someone else or indeed yourself (ideally give a "Edit summary" reason), or views sought on the article's talk page (note repeatedly reverting is bad - see WP:3RR policy, and WP:1RR approach is followed by many editors).
That said, if you need to refer to a specific historical version, then click on the History link and copy the URL address required for any given version (hence http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:NightShade15&oldid=174728888 was the previous version of your talk page before this edit).
If a page is subject to repeated vandalism or spamming, then a request can be made for a temporary semi-protection (only registered users may edit and not anons or new accounts) or in extreme cases of an edit war, a temporary complete protection can be applied when only admins may edit (generally following agreed discussion/consensus on a talk page) - see WP:Protect for full policy. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button 
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. David Ruben Talk 02:15, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Copyright problems edit
Hello. Concerning your contribution, Journal of Reproductive Immunology, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material without the permission of the author. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.elsmediakits.com/journalDetail.php?jrn_id=00000436&ref=prospe. As a copyright violation, Journal of Reproductive Immunology appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Journal of Reproductive Immunology has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. For text material, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source, provided that it is credible.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Journal of Reproductive Immunology and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Journal of Reproductive Immunology with a link to where we can find that note.

A tag has been placed on GroPep, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material.
