List of glam metal bands and artists

edit

Hi Nigel tempest, just stopping by to tell you that before applying major edits to an article, such as the ones you applied to List of glam metal bands and artists, you should read the talk page first and discuss them with other users. I'm very happy to see you are interested in the genre, and I like your nickname as I guess it is related to the legend Joey Tempest. Have a good time here on wikipedia, FateForger (talk) 17:21, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Europe (band) and musical genres

edit

Hi, it is me again. I'd just like you to know I've spent quite a lot of time undoing your recent edits. Here is some advice I'd like to give you. For a start, please do not create thousands of internal links which lack their respective article unless you are going to create a substantial and relevant article for them. Secondly, you seem to have an issue with Europe and their musical genres. In order to change important things such as genres you should provide a reason or, even better, a reliable source. Europe have never been even close to genres like speed metal or trash metal or other genres you added to them. I know you must like Europe very much and I do believe you are a true fan, but this is Wikipedia and you can't just write your impressions. There are other minor issues too, but they are by far less important: musical genres do not need capital letters, melodic heavy metal does not have a page, so unless you create it please do not redirect it to heavy metal, just write heavy metal. I hope I have been helpful and believe me I do not want to start a fight. I'm just trying to be kind and to give you some advice. If you have any doubts please ask me, I'll be happy to help you if I know how to do it. A true Europe fan, FateForger (talk) 18:26, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

July 2010

edit

Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Kiss (band). Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. The editors' note is there for a very good reason. Please discuss such changes of genre in future. Rodhullandemu 15:11, 3 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nigel tempest, just stopping by to tell you that I have spent considerable time reverting you edits to the genres of various music articles, all of which were unexplained or without consensus. You were given some very good advice by FateForger above and I would just add that such decision tend to have been the product of much discussion and to change them you need to engage the editors in changing that consensus through discussion on the relevant talk pages.--SabreBD (talk) 15:38, 3 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of List of blues metal bands

edit

A tag has been placed on List of blues metal bands, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.   Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Europe (band), you may be blocked from editing. SabreBD (talk) 16:49, 3 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is the final warning that you will receive regarding your disruptive edits, such as this edit you made to Blues metal. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing without further notice. Bobby122 (talk) 16:50, 3 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
