Welcome!

edit

Hello, Nicole at DormCoNY, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Dorm Company Corporation, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! @Rystheguy:Hi, would I be able to ask you to proofread the article at this point?Nicole at DormCoNY (talk) 16:36, 6 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Rystheguy:If something reads biased, please let me know as I want the article to remain factual and then I can draft and have it proofread by you if you wouldn't mind or another editor. Thanks Ry.Nicole at DormCoNY (talk) 16:49, 6 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

I can absolutely do that, but I'm pretty busy until next week so it'll have to wait until then. I think the biggest problem I noticed was the use of peacock words. Please let me know if you have any questions or problems in the meantime. Ry's the Guy (talk|contribs) 18:35, 6 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Rystheguy:Thanks for your help, next week is fine. I edited the article from what I can see and I have it sitting in my drafts on here, but another eye always helps whenever you're able to get to it. I appreciate your help.Nicole at DormCoNY (talk) 17:09, 7 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

I've had a chance to apply your sandbox edits and have made additional edits to ensure a neutral, encyclopedic tone. I recommend that you read WP:DISCLOSE and disclose your affiliation (paid or not) with the company on your userpage to avoid any problems in the future. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if I can help in any way. Ry's the Guy (talk|contribs) 12:58, 15 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
I just noticed another account (User_talk:Dishman28) that was originally working on creating an article about DormCo. If you are the same person who did this, or have access to this account, you must declare it on your user page to avoid being involved in a sock puppet investigation. Regards, Ry's the Guy (talk|contribs) 13:04, 15 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Rystheguy:Thank you for your help, I will disclose my affiliation on my userpage. For Dishman28 however, I don't have access to the account and I don't know who that would have been.Nicole at DormCoNY (talk) 13:22, 15 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Great thanks! Ry's the Guy (talk|contribs) 13:26, 15 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
