Hi, I see you've added the {{helpme}} tag. Can I help you with something? --Pilotguy (talk ¦ ) 19:09, 26 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm new and would like to know how to be an active participant in the Wikipedia community. Newwiki 19:21, 26 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Wikipedia:Community Portal is a page dedicated to offering things that you can do to participate in the community. If you let me know what your interests are I can find something for you to do. You can respond here, I'll be watching this page.--Commander Keane 19:24, 26 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm very interested in genealogy and music--Newwiki

Wikipedia:WikiProject Music may be of interest. Genealogy doesn't appear to be as active as music in Wikipedia. If you were looking for a specific task you could try expanding the Bulbul tarang article, I know a user who would appreciate that.--Commander Keane 20:17, 26 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re-nomination of the article George W. Bush on WP:FAC edit

I saw that you recently re-added the closed aeatured article candidacy page for the article George W. Bush to the main Featured Article Candidates page. If you want to re-nominate the article, it is customary to move the old nomination to a new sub-page and then created a brand-new nomination page. If you really want to see George W. Bush become a featured article, you will likely need to work very hard on that page in order to fix things that other people object to. Even if you are willing to do this, you will face a couple of serious obstacles. Firstly, because George W. Bush is such a frequent target for vandals, that page is often semi-protected from edits by anonymous users or brand-new registered ones. So, it will probably be a few days before you will be able to do much work on the page. Secondly, and more seriously, many users objected to the previous nomination on the grounds that, because Bush is the current President of the United States, his article may be subject to sudden changes as world events unfold, and thus fails the requirement that featured articles be stable. If you want to make improvements on the George W. Bush article, you might want to edit some other pages for a few days, and then start work on George W. Bush once the semi-protection policy is no longer preventing you from doing so. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them on my talk page.
