How do I create information on Awapatent in the category "Intellectual Property Law Firms?

edit

{{helpme}} My page on Awapatent was deleted since it didn't indicate how or why the subject was important or significant. My mistake. I'd like to place the page as a subpage in the category "Intellectual Property Law Firms", because I think I contribute with useful information in this category by writing about Awapatent. Can you help me "undeleting" my page and put it in the category "Intellectual Property Law Firms"? Thank you! --Newseditor Awapatent (talk) 13:12, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Awapatent. There are two issues I want to mention here:
  1. Not all firms are notable enough for inclusion on Wikipedia. May I suggest that you read some of our guidelines: Wikipedia:Notability, Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies), Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability. I had a quick search for reliable sources about the company, but couldn't find much! There are no hits at all on Google News, and the Google News Archive results appear to be based on Press Releases. May I suggest that you find some evidence to present to us that the company is notable using our criteria - put this information here, and we can help you!
  2. Your username: it appears to be in violation of our Username Policy, which says Explicit use of a name or url of a company, group or product as a username is not permitted. Your username should represent you. (see also Sharing accounts which says User accounts can only represent individuals. Sharing an account – or the password to an account – with others is not permitted, and doing so will result in the account being blocked. If you edit for a group or organization please still use a non-shared name for your editing. A name such as "User:Megawatt Inc., (John)" may be appropriate..)
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! Regards, -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 13:29, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Awapatent

edit

A tag has been placed on Awapatent requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. This account, Newseditor Awapatent, has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because your username does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

Please choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. However, do not create a new account if you wish to credit your existing contributions to a new name through a username change. To request a username change:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to edit this talk page even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a list of names that have already been taken. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.
