County Londonderry edit

Please refrain from changing references to County Londonderry to read County Derry. The correct name of the county, and accepted name on Wikipedia, is County Londonderry. See WP:IMOS. Continued changing of such references is considered vandalism. Canterbury Tail talk 16:25, 12 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Again a further warning. Please stop changing references to County Londonderry to read County Derry. The correct, an Wikipedia accepted, name of the county is County Londonderry. If you continue to edit in this fashion you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Canterbury Tail talk 18:10, 15 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
This is your final warning. If you change Co Londonderry to Co Derry again you will be reported and blocked.Traditional unionist (talk) 11:08, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Who are you to tell me what the Wikupedia accepted name of my County is,You can call it Londonderry all you want ,on whatever other pages you contribitue to .I have no problem with this whatsoever as it is a free country (so i thought) The issue here is that the people who play ,support and spectate at Gaelic Games ( and logically therefore those who will wish to view this page) will refer to our County as Derry. If however i am banned for changing the name again( which i am going to do) then Mr Bell it says more about your narrow minded views than i could say on a thousand words

This is community. If you do not wish to abide by it's rules then you are free to desist from editing.Traditional unionist (talk) 15:17, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Community consensus on Wikipedia has agreed upon using the official name for the county, see WP:IMOS. Yes some refer to it by the name of County Derry, but this is an encyclopaedia. There has never in the history of Ireland been a county by the name of County Derry, it is simply a colloquial name, and has no official standing. If you continue to ignore community consensus you will be blocked again. Canterbury Tail talk 16:55, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

December 2008 edit

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 days in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for engaging in an edit war at County Londonderry.   This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you delete or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia, as you did to Derry GAA, you will be blocked from editing. Traditional unionist (talk) 15:29, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

My oh so traditional unionist friend the only disruptive editing on this page is your own,as someone who has represented derry at all levels I am disappointed but not suprised at your so called god given right to be able to control the content of what you think is acceptable on the Derry GAA page,

Please read WP:OWN as well as, if you have not already WP:IMOS. I state again, you are free to desist from editing if you are unable to follow Wikipedia policy.Traditional unionist (talk) 16:04, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is, necessarily, a particularly long block. Just so you are informed, blocks are preventative and not punative, and do not prevent you from editing your own talk page. As a result if you were to commit to cease your disrputive editing and abide by wikipedia rules your block would almost certainly be lifted and you would be free to make constructive edits once more.Traditional unionist (talk) 16:16, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
