Welcome to Wikipedia. I have noticed that some of your recent genre changes have conflicted with our neutral point of view and verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you to seek consensus for certain edits. Thank you.Candyo32 02:15, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unsourced genres

edit

No, it is not true Candy, no one source says "Baby" is synth pop, that is your own analysis. Please send me (LINK) what source says baby is synth pop and dance pop, those genres are unsourced. I have citations that use reliable sources and no one says that "Baby" is synth pop. I have citations that says "Baby" is a soul song that uses hip hop/dance drums. I will add it, because I investigate this song.

I think that the problem is the confusion of the term "pop", it is just an abbreviation of popular, pop music (popular music), pop culture (popular culture) or pop art (popular art), etc. I have citations that prove that.

Synth pop is not the real name of the genre, the real genre is techno new wave. Dance pop is not the real name of the genre, the real genre is dance/electronic dance. Synth pop and Dance pop were invented by people that did a wrong analysis of those styles Pop is short for popular, it is the real meaning.

If you added unsourced genres like synth pop for "baby" (Justin Bieber), then you'd be against the neutral point of view and verifiability policies. It would not be serious or objective.

I have consensus to remove synth pop, because many users consider that synth pop is a wrong genre for "Baby" (Justin Bieber), but I hope that you remove synth pop and dance pop, specially synth pop. It would be your great contribution to the credibility of Wikipedia. I will add a new sourced information about the song. For now, this will be my contribution.

I won't oppose the removal of synthpop, but I absolutely will not stand for the removal of dance-pop. Second of all, no offense, that that its a bogus and outrageous claim that dance-pop and synthpop are fictional genres made up by people for the heck of it. Thirdly, I only see one other user that agrees with you, consensus is clearly not gained, but I could find plenty involved in Justin Bieber and other music projects that will support the genres on the song. Dirty Diana

edit

Please stop undoing my changes to the video section. The Pepsi video is not the actual music video filmed for promotion. That info is false. This is the correct one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oofTI6vuqo — Preceding unsigned comment added by LiterallySimon (talkcontribs) 18:41, 16 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Culture Club

edit

Please refrain from edits like this one, and the accompanying misleading edit summary. This is an article about a British band, and use of dmy dates, as well as expressions such as "Culture Club were" are correct. Links to words such as singing are clearly unnecessary and in violation of WP:Linking. Thank you for your attention. --Ohconfucius ¡digame! 06:09, 9 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ohconfucius, you are right but I did not add links to words such as singing, it was added by other user. I just restored my sourced information and it may include that links. Excuse me, I didn't know. Thanks for your message. In the future, I will just restore my sourced information or revert vandalism. --Newalf (talk) 01:15, 12 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
