New Year's Day

edit

Thank you for moving the info from New Year's Day to New Year. I was planning on doing it (eventually), but you beat me to it. Do you want to take on moving the stuff in the New Year that probably should be moved to the New Year's Day, or do you want to leave that for me to tackle? gK ¿? 21:51, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I see you've done some more work, as have I now. I still think the New Year's Day article needs a lot of work to make it cohesive -- Navidazizi 22:47, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)
It's the Wiki-way of things. Sometimes there is a single correction in spelling (often missing numerous other mispellings). At other times there are small additions or corrections. Finally there are the wholesale changes that are rarer. Both articles have seen some attention this week, but mostly just small changes. gK ¿? 23:42, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Bahai faith

edit
Hi. As thousands of articles on wikipedia start with sentences like "... the American author, ... the British architect, ... the Chinese prophet ...etc." I consider it to be no problem to mention at the beginning that Baha'ullah was an Iranian prophet. Insisting on making an exception in this article to avoid mentioning the name Iran on top is rather biased.

You advise me not be proud of my country and think that I am not proud of my humanity! How do you know I do not see all humans as equal? You are offensive and prejudist. You may not be proud of your country and culture but I am. I am proud of its good things and disapprove its negative sides. What is your real reason behind deleting the name of Iran on top? Shame of your background? Low self-confidence? --Mani1 16:03, 23 Jan 2005 (UTC)

User Martin2000

edit

Hi Navid,

I just noticed something about the guy who keeps trying to post Baha'u'llah's picture on Baha'u'llah and Baha'i Faith. Keep an eye on the talk pages there to see what happens.

This user appears to be an identity created on 14th Jan whose only reason for being is to upload Baha'u'llah's picture and add it to this article and the one on Baha'u'llah. here is his entire list of contributions to Wikipedia. I think Baha'u'llah's image ought to be removed from the Wikipedia database. PaulHammond 21:34, Jan 30, 2005 (UTC)

India

edit

Hi, I see that you reverted my edits on the Bahai faith in India. No probs, but I think the global scope of the religion should be mentioned somewhere on the page or in another article. Here's my contribution:

India is estimate to have to about 2.2 million Bahai's, out of which the city of Bombay has around 500. In Bombay, the Bahai have their office in Court Chambers in Churchgate.

Hope you can make place to add my data. Nichalp 19:18, Feb 1, 2005 (UTC)

Hi Nichalp, the only reason why I removed your contribution because it quite didn't fit within the top paragraph of the article. The data is indeed correct, and I am proud that India has so many Baha'is. We just have to find the right place to put it up, and I don't know where is the correct place for it. Probably a list of which countries have the most Baha'is is what is needed. And as you probably have noticed recently there has been a discussion about the content of the Baha'i Faith page. I think within the next couple months, the page will look quite different. If a place comes up where such info can be placed without it seeming out of place I will put it up. Is this ok? -- 19:41, Feb 1, 2005 (UTC)
I'm too busy editing a lot of articles, so please add it whereever you deem fit. I pulled the facts of the Bahai faith from a newspaper cutting. New Delhi has an image of the Lotus Temple if you are interested in more images. Nichalp 20:17, Feb 1, 2005 (UTC)

Two Articles in need of your attention

edit

There are two entries at Wikipedia, which have falsely created -- they are Turco-Persian and Turko-Persian Tradition. Both entries are factitious. I have requested the entries to be deleted. My reasons are:

The term Turko-Persian Tradition (or Turco-Persian) does not exists academically and it is a factitious entry! Check the Encyclopaedia Iranica to confirm -- The correct name for that culture is the Persianate culture not the "Turko-Persian". Turkophones (mostly of mixed race and Persianized in culture) only spoke in Turkic dialects and were in the military. That is not enough participation in creating and forming the culture to deserve the name "Turko-Persian Tradition" – This is misinformation. All the elements in that area, which have to do with tradition and culture, were drawn from the Iranian culture and the Islamic faith, not much Turkic elements (like shamanism, yurts etc.) were incorporated in. That is what makes the name "Turko-Persian" an imaginary one and therefore the entry should be deleted.

Any contributions would greatly appreciated. Bā Sepās Surena 01:57, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
