Girls in BSA

edit

Naha: re the now renamed controversies article...pls see my talk page comment of 15:32, 14 April 2006 (UTC). Would you be interested in writing this part? I thought you may as you work that article and I don't like to work that article. Randy, Rlevse 15:39, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I can definitely look into it, this is one "controversy" that I'm not quite as familiar with. I will have to do some research to be able to cover the topic properly :) --Naha|(talk) 18:37, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Cool. I would like to see it added. Basically, women leaders are allowed in all levels of BSA (Cubs, Scouts, Venture, etc). But youth girls can not join Cub Packs, Boy Scout Troops, or Varsity Teams, but they can join Venture Crews. Even then, they can not earn ranks, merit badges, etc (but can earn Venture awards), nor can they be elected into the Order of the Arrow (but adult women can get into the OA). I think the whole thing is schizo -- they're only partly allowed in, but women are fully allowed as adult leaders; it'd make more sense to me to totally ban females or totally allow them into the program. Rlevse 00:16, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'll start to do some research on it :) --Naha|(talk) 01:55, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
PS: I love what you did with the top of your talk page. I'm going to copy it, but maybe change the colors. Did you do it from scratch or copyfrom somewhere? Randy
I'm glad you like it :) You should look at my userpage too, the overall design (the blue colors/frames) I stole from Nightstallion. The link bar was extremly modified from his linkbar. The "Read this before posting" box was modeled after the one on MacGyverMagic's talk page. The little file cabinet idea for the archives was stolen from ...someone else but I can't remember who now. If you need any help with formatting/page design or whatever, let me know - I'll be glad to try to help :) --Naha|(talk) 01:55, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
See what you think so far.. esp the 30+ countries, 49 states, etc I've been to...Randy
So far it looks great! I'm impressed with your travels ...business or pleasure? or both? --Naha|(talk) 03:42, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Both, my dad was in the Air Force and I was in the Navy, so I love visiting places and sampling the local culture, cuisine, etc. I've lived in Japan 3 times and the Netherlands once. My wife is from Thailand (so my son and daughter are half-Thai). I may add more flags when I find them (I've also been to Midway Island, Bonaire, Trieste, etc). Rlevse 11:51, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
That is awesome! My grandfather was in the Navy for 40 years, he actually just passed away last week. My father was in the Army, boyfriend in the Air Force - they all did some travelling during their respective tenures. All my travel time has been vacation so far :) --Naha|(talk) 15:42, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Great. I'm mostly done with the initial re-organization of my pages. Check them out. I added a few flags too. Rlevse 21:56, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Everything looks very nice on your pages. I'm starting to get some links together to start sorting through for the Girls/BSA stuff. Take a look at the bottom of my sandbox page. I'm working on some stuff down there for the project too. --Naha|(talk) 23:36, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
All three are very nice. Let me know when you're done with the templates. Rlevse 01:56, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Will do :) --Naha|(talk) 03:46, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
Did you get my wikiemail I sent you? Rlevse 12:20, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Scouting article work

edit

If you are getting this, it is because you do or did work on Scouting articles (see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Scouting#Participants_and_primary_areas_of_interest).

As the Scouting WikiProject has been formed since early January 2006, we've had many great improvements made in this area of Wiki and I want to personally thank everyone for their help. We don't always agree on things, but we keep moving forward. YIS, Rlevse 22:09, 25 April 2006 (UTC)EXTRA KUDOS FOR YOU JENNY!Reply

Thanks! I know I have not been as active the last month or so, but after the semester is up, I plan to resume my contributions to the Scouting project. Currently I'm just doing easy/mindless touchup editing that requires little to no research until I have more time. --Naha|(talk) 02:20, 26 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cena's myspace

edit

Just to let you know before you wrongly again accuse someone of vandalism when they have correctly removed joh cenas myspace, John cena NO LONGER has a myspace, his one was deleted, a fan then went and took up the name, if you look at the site you will clearly see that. so there is no longer an official john cena myspace. Lil crazy thing 13:35, 28 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

This change must be very recent. Being so used to reverting the URL's removal from the article with good reason, when I had to do it again yesterday, I left a frusrated edit summary. The first time it was removed (after the site was no longer official), I never saw an edit summary (if one existed) stating the fact it had become a fan site, so I had no way of knowing it was no longer an offical site because there was no reason to check. Sorry for the confusion. --Naha|(talk) 15:53, 28 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

PLEASE ASSIST, WRESTLING FANS OF WIKIPEDIA

edit

Me and the soon to be departing (hopefully not) Moe Epsilon are setting up a project to deal with the music of this great business. It will be Wikipedia:WikiProject Music of wrestling. Join if you are remotely interested - every little helps! Thanks. Kingfisherswift 17:09, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

edit

You made this edit to the Sonny Sandoval article, by which you changed a wikilink so that "Christian" went to Jason Reso instead of to Christian. Not that I'd want to get the muscular Mr. Reso mad at me or anything, but the fact is that the rest of the world does sometimes use the word "Christian" to refer to the religion rather than the wrestler. Please double-check your edits and fix any other links where you've made an incorrect substitution. Thanks! JamesMLane t c 19:52, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

My apologies. I was using an auto editor of sorts to make a LOT of changes. Even though I try to check every suggestion it makes for changes, sometimes I miss one. Actually, this is the first one that has been brought to my attention. Thank you for telling me. I will try to proofread more carefully on the autochecker and *guilty look* try not to make edits when I'm half asleep! (I've been up doing this past 12am lately, ack) --Naha|(talk) 22:12, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Jazz

edit

In an edit to Winnipeg, Manitoba you disambiguated a link to jazz for the type of music of a radio station to some wrestler with the name Jazz. Qutezuce 01:25, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry. This is the second time this has happened now. It looks like I'm going to have to change some of the settings in the program I'm using to DAB with. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. --Naha|(talk) 01:37, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Eagle Scout Peer Review

edit

I listed the Eagle Scout article for a formal peer review a few moments ago in the hope in about 2 weeks to list it as a FAC. Based on my experience with other FACs and one of my own successful FAs, I think there are two things people may object to: a) is the lead long enough? and b) are there too many lists? Please think these issues over. Thanks for all the help, Randy.

Also, did you ever rework the Girls in BSA section of that article? YIS, Rlevse 11:46, 26 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, I haven't yet :( My interest at the moment is more on the administrative side of things - formatting, grammar, spelling, correct linking etc., and I'm having a hard time making myself write anything right now =/. --Naha|(talk) 05:49, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

John Cena

edit

I'm going to be busy as all hell from next week onwards, so I won't be able to keep an eye on the Cena article much anymore, or anything else on my watchlist. I'll find some time to rewrite it, condense it lots (let's face it, it repeats itself a lot and contains too much superfluous content), but you're going to have to be the one looking out for it from now on. Nobody else who cares seems to have the capability. --Antrophica 21:10, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I guess its going to pile up then because I'm on an indefinite wiki-break at the moment :( --Naha|(talk) 13:57, 18 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi

You've been pretty quiet lately. What are you up to? We're part of V.1.0 and have the articles assesed, work on quality, can view stats and listings, etc. Best wishes, Rlevse 01:23, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Been pretty busy IRL lately. Had carpal tunnel surgery and my wisdom pulled out among other things. Just don't have time for this at the moment, which sucks because I really enjoy it. I'll be back, eventually. Keep up the great work...I check on stuff from time to time, just not enough time to respond. Ya'll are doing great! --Naha|(talk) 09:56, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image:Tom Cavanagh.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tom Cavanagh.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 22:29, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Texas A&M

edit

Hi, I noticed this comment you made about A&M a year ago on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Michigan State University: "This is simply excellent. Great use of inline citations! One day, when I get around to it, I hope to make the article on Texas A&M University this thorough and well written" I'm also trying to make A&M a featured article. Whenever you find time, consider joining the in this quest! Thanks and gig 'em! --Blueag9 (Talk) 06:05, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
