Applying WP:CRYSTAL

Hey, NZ! Welcome to Wikipedia. I just wanted to chat about enforcing WP:CRYSTAL. Futon Critic is a reliable source, and gets broadcast dates from the network. If it lists a broadcast date with title TBA, that simply means CBS hasn't released the name of the new episode; if CBS plans a rerun, FC will use TBA (R) instead. We don't have to be so rigid about avoiding crystal balling that we ignore announced dates until they have a title, particularly given the POI writers and one producer regularly make the title, episode number, and writer/director available via Twitter. From there, it's not a problem to align the titles and broadcast dates. We've done that all through seasons three and four with only rare changes (usually made by CBS.) NOt a big deal: TV schedules change. What's on the article now is accurate, based on two reliable sources. --Drmargi (talk) 19:36, 25 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi Drmargi, thaanks for that explanation. I still think its speculating along the lines of the discussion on Talk:List_of_Arrow_episodes#Speculative_air_dates - I know I've seen a number of shows go from a new episode to a repeat when Futon was originally listing TBA. Cheers, NZunknown (talk) 19:43, 25 January 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, but that happens. TV schedules change. We shouldn't let that stop us from adding sourced information based on a "what if" scenario. That's not what WP:CRYSTAL is designed to address; it's more about speculation and assumptions made about what might happen. We have a source for those dates, even if they do change later. Moreover, there's a difference between what we're doing on POI, where we have episode titles, etc. from another source that allows us to connect a date to an episode, and what is being discussed on the Arrow page, where all you have is a date you can't attach to a specific episode. Even then, it's not at all unusual to see those dates in TV articles. --Drmargi (talk) 20:40, 25 January 2015 (UTC)

Re: 100 Things to Do Before High School

About time they and others return. :) I don't know why Nickelodeon hasn't shown any new episodes since July 25, especially when some are new series/premieres. The Thundermans, for example, just started its third season and only four episodes in does Nickelodeon decide to stop showing new episodes until late September. Meanwhile, Disney Channel continued to show new episodes, though it's on "break" now as well as of Sunday, but only until mid-September. Compared to Nickelodeon... I guess I should slightly correct that in that it seems to be only with with series/seasons that already premiered as Henry Danger's second season is premiering in early September. Amaury (talk) 01:58, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
