Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cincinnati-Blue Ash Airport, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Highland, New York (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:DePaul Cristo Rey High School logo.png)

Thanks for uploading File:DePaul Cristo Rey High School logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:15, 30 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Pho dictionary images

I can e-mail my images of the pho entries in various dictionaries to you if you like. Despite what Hieu says, I think ⿰米頗/phở is just the sort of character that might have been coined if in fact phở is derived from 粉/phấn. 米 is a semantic element from 粉, while 頗 is a phonetic, which is typical of Nom character construction. Ngưu gives the construction as, "HT:mễ (ý) + 頗 pha (âm)". The character 粉 could not have been used to write phở because Vietnamese readers would have pronounced it as phấn. Wasn't 頗 already being used as a phonetic for phở in the 1898 dictionary? Of course, that doesn't explain why the pronunciation would shift from phấn to phở. Vietnamese customers may have misread the Cantonese shop signs. The character 粉 does not have an obvious resemblance to any of the Nom characters for pho. But the lettering on shop signs at that time would have looked differently than it does in modern font. The Nom Foundation has 19 characters for phở phơ phổ, any one of which could be responsible for this confusion. Whoever coined the ⿰米頗/phở character apparently knew what the original character was and understood that there had been a pronunciation shift. Kauffner (talk) 15:14, 22 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Han-Nom

Someone is trying to get rid of my Han-Nom article, as you can see here. Kauffner (talk) 05:45, 24 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Mxn, five editors are indeed trying to merge Kauffner's disruptive duplicate article back to Hán and Nôm. Your comments/assistance would be appreciated In ictu oculi (talk) 10:46, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

File:WKRP-CA.png listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect File:WKRP-CA.png. Since you had some involvement with the File:WKRP-CA.png redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:38, 1 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

No need for discussion: it's an unused redirect that I automatically created when renaming the file to File:WBQC-LD.png. The redirect is entirely safe to delete. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 10:49, 1 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wikidata

Hello Mxn, if you have the time could you come over to Wikidata and check my translations? I would appreciate your high activity and Vietnamese level 2 competency level considering I didn't see much of anyone else on meta who would consider dedicating their translation time. I'd also like to know how to be able to translate the new system messages. TeleComNasSprVen (talkcontribs) 21:03, 18 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much for reviewing my attempted translations on Wikidata! You've probably guessed by now, but I can only speak the language; I don't fully understand some of the writing unless I try to sound them out sometimes (and even then, Google Translate is not entirely reliable). I think I'm learning a bit more Vietnamese from your revisions to my attempts. I wonder, have you ever been Vietnam? TeleComNasSprVen (talkcontribs) 11:57, 24 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
