Hello, I'm C.Fred. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Pakistan International School Jeddah, because it seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 01:11, 20 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not the place to advertise your blog. Further, since it's a help for students, you'd be better off posting it on a campus bulletin board, not on an international encyclopedia: the blog would not be of interest to the average reader. —C.Fred (talk) 01:17, 20 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Also, there are guidelines on external links, and one of the types of links to be avoided is "11. Blogs, personal web pages and most fansites, except those written by a recognized authority." As you said yourself, you're a student; this does not make you a recognized authority on the subjects you tutor. Further, #13 on the list of links to be avoided is "Sites that are only indirectly related to the article's subject". The tutoring page is not about the school; it's about subjects taught at the school, so it's an indirect link.
So, we welcome your contributions, but you're not free to edit with disregard for established rules. —C.Fred (talk) 01:27, 20 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
