Notability of Muh (US band)

edit

A tag has been placed on Muh (US band), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. P4k 00:54, 27 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is only supposed to have articles about bands that are sufficiently "notable," as defined by the standards here (the main one is being the subject of a lot of independent published works, press coverage or whatever). An article shouldn't be speedily deleted just for not meeting those standards, but it can be speedily deleted for not even claiming to meet those standards, which Muh (band) didn't. This is basically just what the form letter I left above says. Also given your username creating that article seems like self-promotion, but that's a different issue. I hope that explains it.--P4k 01:04, 27 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Based on this it seems like the best idea would be to just register a new username, since you haven't done many edits. If you do that you should probably leave a note on your userpage saying that you used to edit under this name so that people will know. Unsolicited advice about the band: I really suggest that you figure out whether or not they're notable and find some reliable sources about them before you write another article about them.--P4k 01:42, 27 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
