Grammy Award Host
editPlease consider explaining the reason behind the undo. I saw that certain celebrities hosted the Grammy for a number of times in a row (more than 5 for some). On the contrary, several years saw an absence of host. I do understand if you would like to elaborate it yearly, but please do explain the actual reasoning in case the criteria differs. Thank you. --G(x) (talk) 11:36, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- I have reverted your edits on Template:Grammy Award hosts on grounds that it is a waste of space. Next time, please enter a specific edit summary to clearly explain your actions. Edit summaries, always a good practice, are particularly important when reverting so other editors like me can tell what your intentions are.
- Also, italics on Template:Emmy Awards means the ceremony or event has not occurred yet. This convention of using italics is also used on Template:Olympic Games, Template:United States presidential elections and other similar pages. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (talk) 05:47, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Explanations
editRegarding your edits to Matt Stone and Trey Parker: voice acting might not be the same profession as acting, but they both do fall under the general category of acting. Tara Strong and Phil LaMarr, who frequently do voice acting, explain in these interviews how voice acting is a form of acting:
These should help clarify.
Also, while Forbes is indeed quite a reliable source, it currently isn't listing Seth MacFarlane's net worth. It stated his yearly earnings, but those are not the same thing as net worth. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 04:30, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- Okay Let's just because two people out of 100 voice actors say that the voice acting say is a style of voice acting doesn't mean a thing at all it's still two completely different occupations in which you admitted, "not the same profession as acting", it does not fall in any way the same category at all, and I've checked other voice actors like Rachael MacFarlane and John DiMaggio who don't have actors on they're occupation, Why? And for the Seth MacFarlane net worth, why would you remove it since clearly you've got people like Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates with the exact same situation, why do they get to get away with? I have been very diplomatic about this situation so please as a person who enjoys editing wikipedia and trying to make it as the reliable place for people and trying not to be the unreliable website that people say it is please can you just let it go. Thank you and have a great day. 😄
- I am not questioning civility or anything in case that was your concern. Yes, Bill Gates and Oprah have net worth listed, but for some reason Forbes sometimes shows only someone's earnings and not their net worth. Earnings is separate from net worth. Net worth is a combination of earnings with purchases and losses and such. If it explicitly states "net worth" instead of "earnings", then go ahead and use it for net worth. Since that isn't the case, we currently can't use Forbes for that. As for professions, they often fall into general categories. In this case, let's use stage acting, film acting, television acting, and voice acting. Are they all the same? Perhaps not, but these all fall under the general category of acting. "Actor" is in fact a relatively broad term. The samples I provided are specific types of acting. The links I provided were just samples, I'm sure there are more stating similar things.
