Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Alexf(talk) 00:15, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I have never made a penny in the decades of research on this topic of Moral Innovations. I have introduced this topic without compensation to help readers and students understand the world around them. Under no circumstances is this content a promotion or advertising with a profit motive. I can remove any content that gave you the impression this is a promotion or advertising. I will not have any content that gave anyone the wrong impression. Wikipedia has been an important part of my research and I have donated what I can to Wikipedia over the years. You can see the links in my articles that connect to other sources, many of them Wikipedia pages. My contribution will help connect different pieces of Wikipedia for readers. I would not intentionally harm Wikipedia in any way. My new username can be mi2024 or delllay Moral Innovator (talk) 11:25, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

This does not address your violation of WP:USERNAME and your perceived violation of WP:COI. Furthermore, someone is making a profit off of this. It's unclear if that person is you. If you are David S. Wu or are involved in the textbook or finance course or youtube videos, etc., you do indeed count as a paid editor (see WP:PAID). Yamla (talk) 11:37, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please do not modify (or remove) declined unblock requests for your currently active block. You are free to make a new request if you wish. You should address all the problems that lead to your block. --Yamla (talk) 12:40, 16 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Moral Innovator, I received your email. To be unblocked you need to submit an unblock request that suitably touches on the reasons you were blocked (as described above): using Wikipeda as a tool for promotion and having a username that represents an organisation. You need to also detail what you would edit if unblocked, as well as any paid relationships you have regarding editing Wikipedia. If you can address these issues to the satisfaction of an administrator, you may be unblocked: indefinite doesn't mean forever. Best, Schminnte [talk to me] 08:31, 19 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I understand and support the review to eliminate any profit motive related to my content. I also propose to change my username to delllay or, if that is taken, mi2024. In fact, my content is to help readers reduce the profit motives. The closest to a profit is my appointment as compensated Professor of Finance at Hult International Business School who used the customized eBook as textbook for my class with the executive summary of Moral Innovations. The students did pay for the textbook direct to the publisher. I also paid for, and was never compensated, for the creation of the YouTube videos. I will never attempt to profit off my contribution to Wikipedia which I have used for my research on this topic and am a donor to Wikipedia when I can over the years. Decline reason:

As an editor, I thank you for donating, but that has no relevance to this as donations are collected and used by the Wikimedia Foundation, us editors have nothing to do with it. You indeed count as a paid editor and must disclose that. You will also need to tell us how your edits will be consistent with the conflict of interest policy. 331dot (talk) 12:49, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please place new posts at the bottom. Please make a new unblock request that proposes a new username as instructed(use the first template described, not the second that you used here), it makes the rename process easier. 331dot (talk) 12:49, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
