Speedy deletion of Eastern sun

A tag has been placed on Eastern sun requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Regarding Eastern sun

edit

In order to be included in Wikipedia, the subject of an article has to meet the notability guideline. Typically, video game mods do not meet the notability criteria outlined in the guideline, except in the case of very high profile mods. Articles also have to include cited sources so that the information within is verifiable. These sources are usually things like writeups in magazines or newspapers; they must be independent and reliable, and as such, the mod's website or blogs are not an acceptable source. The latest verison of the article also includes a direct copy of text from the Feature's section of the Eastern Sun website, which is copyrighted; this is a blatant copyright violation and as such must be speedily deleted. If you can find some reliable independent sources, such as a video game magazine, that cover this mod, it may be considered for inclusion, but most likely will eventually be judged to fall short of the notability criteria, I'm sorry to say. If you create the article again, please be aware that you may be blocked for a short period of time for repeated failure to adhere to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Don't let this discourage you, though...you are more than welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, but policies and guidelines like WP:SPAM, WP:CITE, WP:V, WP:SOURCES and WP:N are very important to keep in mind when editing. If you have any questions, leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 21:13, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you want, you can create the article at User:MoorganHart/Eastern Sun so we can edit it without risking getting it deleted. A lot of users do this; it's creating an article in your user space so you can work on it before moving it into the article space. Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 00:25, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
