Mokhtar Ibrahim

A traveler , doctor and an important image to Egyptians who contributed to Africa. Dr. Mokhtar Ibrahim those are the words to describe him. He is the father of 2 and the grand father of 4. He is the founder of Al Amal Hospital and the personal doctor of two Botswanian Leaders.



Early Life :


Born in 1941 in Beni Suef an upper egypt governerate , in an upper middle class family. Mokhtar was very intellectual during his early years. He was very found of medicine and pursuing a Medical career. The village contributed to Mokhtar's character especially his devoted love to his country.


Educational Stage:


Mokhtar joined Ain Shams Univeristy Ranked 2nd in Egyptian Univeristy ranking. Mokhtar joined the prestigous Faculty of Medicine. This is where Mokhtar meet his soon to be wife Moshira also a studnet at the faculty of Medicine. He was then hired as an intern in one of the low level suburbs.

Proffesional Career:


Mokhtar traveled to zambia in 1969 after continous struggles in his home country. Zambia helped Mokhtar's future career since he meet the person who then asked him to travel to Botswana. So after 3 years Mokhtar traveled to Botswana. Mokhtar had a thriving career in Botswana. He was the head of the national hospital and had a private clinic. Due to his great achievements he was then appointed as the personal doctor to Seretse Khama , Khama considered Mokhtar as his best friend and perosnal right hand. Khama acknowledged Mokhtar as the greatest medical doctor in Africa and one of the best in the world. He then became the personal dotor of Quett Masire the 2nd botswanian president. He was also a great friend of him. Masire considered Mokhtar to be one of the greatest doctors he ever , Mokhtar traveled with Masire every where. Mokhtar was very close in obtaining the Botswanian nationality which is very hard to obtain. Mokhtar was welcomed by everyone and recieved a gift from parliment. Mokhtar's decision to travel to Egypt an leave Botswana was a very controversial decision it could be best described as " As is a Stoem has struck Botswana". Everyone was upset and the president was very sad of this decision. Mokhtar was a great contribution to Botswana and enhanced Egypt's image abroad. When he came back to Egypt he founded the Amal Hospital and his two children are also prusuing Medical Careers.
