Same graphics for different ammunition?
editThe graphics used in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:5.7_x_28.jpg and https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:.223_Remington.jpg are a standard scheme for bottle necked rimless cartridges. The (differing) dimensional numbers are correct.--Francis Flinch (talk) 15:55, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
- Could you explain this a bit more? Both have about the same diameter but one is 16.9mm longer. Also why do you answer on my discussion page?--Mogoh (talk) 19:30, 9 January 2018 (UTC)
- I simply chose to use a standard technical drawing for that category (bottle necked rimless cartridges) of cartridges. If you like to create technical drawings to actual scale that is fine. Maybe it is better the compare the 5.56×45mm NATO with the 5.7×28mm as FN Herstal had an important role in both designs. I do not understand your question regarding the same diameter. The G1 projectile diameters are equal. Many cartridge case diameters (R1, P1, P2 , R1) significantly differ. The 5.7×28mm also is a rebated rim cartridge. I answer on your talk page because that way you will receive a notice from Wikipedia.--Francis Flinch (talk) 09:25, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry, I said diameter but I meant the length (L6). I think it is misleading because it looks like a technical drawing, when it is not. I think it should be changed or added with a warning or removed. --Mogoh (talk) 08:43, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
