Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for preparing a draft for Mary Cresswell, and for declaring that you have a conflict of interest (people often don't, and it helps a lot!). If you haven't already, I would recommend having a read of the Wikipedia guidance on COI editing. I also note that since she is a living person, it is particularly important that the article be supported by reliable and verifiable published sources; see the guidance on biographies of living persons for more information.

At the moment, the 'Life' section doesn't cite any sources. I can find sources supporting her being born in Los Angeles, as well as the move to New Zealand in 1970, so those aren't a problem. However, I wondered if you had any sources for her birth name/year and marriages? If not, that's not necessarily a problem, but the section might need a bit of reworking. I am keen to help get this article through AFC, as we can always do with more articles about women in NZ literature. :)

Please feel free to reply to me on this page; if you have any questions, also, please do ask. Cheers, Chocmilk03 (talk) 21:52, 5 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Further to the above, I think these matters have been resolved now through contributions by other editors, so not to worry (although please feel free to continue to work on the article, if there's anything else you'd like to improve). Thank you and again, welcome! Chocmilk03 (talk) 04:05, 6 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Edits to Mary Cresswell

Kia ora. I see you've been endeavouring to add the name of Mary's son to her article, however please note the guidance at WP:BLPNAME (emphasis added):

The presumption in favor of privacy is strong in the case of family members of articles' subjects and other loosely involved, otherwise low-profile persons. The names of any immediate, former, or significant family members or any significant relationship of the subject of a BLP may be part of an article, if reliably sourced, subject to editorial discretion that such information is relevant to a reader's complete understanding of the subject. However, names of family members who are not also notable public figures must be removed from an article if they are not properly sourced.

I've removed the name therefore and updated the infobox to reflect that she has 2 children including Miriam. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask? Chocmilk03 (talk) 21:22, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

OK, that's fine. Thanks for drawing the guideline relevant to this to my attention. Best. Mm wiki editor (talk) 09:39, 3 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
