Impressive comet
editHi Michael,
I just wanted to let you know that I was impressed with your photograph Image:Comet Hale-Bopp Death Valley.jpg. However, it really needs an appropriate image copyright tag, presumably {{PD}}, {{GFDL}} or {{cc-by-sa-2.0}} as its your own photograph. Let me know when you get a chance to tag it, and I will probably nominate it for Featured Pictures. -- Solipsist 08:15, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Pic of the day
editHi Michael,
Just to let you know that your photo Image:Moon merged small.jpg is due to make a reappearance as Pic of the Day on the 25th May. I've reused the same caption as last time, but you can make any changes at Wikipedia:Picture of the day/May 25, 2005. -- Solipsist 21:03, 16 May 2005 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Comet_Hale-Bopp.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Comet_Hale-Bopp.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 12:00, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
