It is situated in a residential area. The major landmarks here are two public schools: Macario B. Assistio High School and Imelda Elementary School, and a community police precinct.
Brief History
editThe land where the parish stands today, used to be a fishery (palaisdaan in Filipino). The late President Ferdinand C. Marcos by virtue Presidential Decree No. 814 (issued on October 17, 1975) - PRESCRIBING THE LAND TENURE SYSTEM FOR THE TONDO FORESHORE AND DAGAT-DAGATAN URBAN DEVELOPMENT PROJECT developed the said area in order to become inhabited.
Soon after, there were two prominent Catholic places of worship being established: San Lorenzo Ruiz and Companions (situated at Phase I-C, Dagat - Dagatan, Navotas City)and the National Shrine of San Lorenzo Ruiz, which later renamed and changed to San Exequiel Moreno in 1992. This was through a decree by the late Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin.
Rev. Fr. Ronaldo "Boyet" C. Pedroso has been the parish priest since its humble beginnings up to the present. He used to be assisted by Rev. Fr. Rene Durante and later by Rev. Fr. Jose Maria "Jojo" Aguas.
