Welcome!

Hello, Mitmatt, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

Please take a run through our Policies and Guidelines, in addition to having a look at copyright policy. A lot of information you've added to the Burnside Country Fire Service is taken straight off the Burnside CFS site and has been removed. The images you've uploaded also violate copyright and will be deleted.

Put short, anything on wikipedia must be 1) verifiable (sourced) and 2) copyleft (free of copyright).

I hope this information doesn't dissuade you from editing, but that it helps you to edit appropriately.

Feel free to ask me about any of this on my talk page.

Re:Burnside CFS

edit

Those photos are under copyright and until the Burnside CFS management explicity releases copyright for them they cannot be used on wikipedia. I live nearby (Waterfall Gully) and would be more than happy to take some replacement photos of the station for the article.

I compared the text to that on the site. It was nearly identical, in addition to being written in an unencylopedic format. Feel free to rewrite the information accordingly, but work on wikipedia cannot be copied verbatim (plagiarism). I am willing to help with a rewrite.

I respect the work of the CFS (especially since you're a member of the local station and have helped us out with bushfires / burnoffs / the recent floods). I hope the article can be expanded. Happy editing. michael talk 07:35, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

:) I look forward to seeing your work! You might want to leave a message with Mel, a CFS member from the hills who has worked on a lot of Country Fire Service-related articles. michael talk 07:51, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
