Gansevoort edit

Hello Milamitu, I removed Gansevoort Street from the Gansevoort disambiguation page because there is no article for it. I figure the disambiguation page is meant to guide users to the existing article they want when several articles could have the same name, not to list every possible meaning of a word. Feel free to respond here if you disagree. Otherwise, happy editing! --JBC3 (talk) 16:54, 24 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi JBC... thanks for the Welcome! I actually dont want to change corrections made by somebody who is a more experienced user than I am. But honestly I think that it is not right to delete the Gansevoort Street from the disambiguation page. If you delete links to non existing pages from every disambiguation page, you need to delete thousends of links. But I saw, that it is absolutely common to put links to such unexisting pages on disambiguation pages. See: West Point (disambiguation), O'Connell Street (disambiguation), Glasgow (disambiguation), Wall Street (disambiguation), Saint Paul (disambiguation), Waterloo (disambiguation) and many, many more. Someone told me, that it makes sence to link unexisting articles like the one about Gansevoort Street on a disambiguation page (if the article in question is already mentioned in another article - Im writing an article about a Mayor of New York City, in which this street is mentioned), because he said, that it is better leaving a page empty then to write a simple stub. 4 out of the 6 Gansevoort-articles on the Gansevoort-disambiguation page are not much more then stubs! If you want, I can write such a stub about the Gansevoort Street too, but I prefer leaving it empty, and probabely someone else is interested to write a real article about it, when he or she sees, that there is no article yet. Because of these reasons, I would be glad, if you could undo the deletion. With kind regards --Milamitu (talk) 18:35, 24 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
