1995 Japanese Grand Prix

Hi Diniz. I am currently working on the 1995 Japanese Grand Prix article. I hear from AlexJ that you have the 1995 edition of "Autocourse". Could you possibly look through it and see if there any mentions of any main Formula One figures praising Jean Alesi's performance in the Japanese round? I would be much appreciated if you could have a look for me. Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 22:06, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

OK. :) D.M.N. (talk) 10:29, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Thank you! :) Also, if you don't mind, could you have a look through the Japan 1995 pages in your AUTOCOURSE and see if I've missed out anything really vital, or whether there's anything that could fit nicely into the article. Much appreciated if you could do that. Thanks again, D.M.N. (talk) 17:14, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I've added a note about the "ten wins in a season" thing in the quotation box (see the FAC). If it's OK, can you strike it out on the FAC page? Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 21:16, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. Could you put precise page numbers though if that's OK? Re: The bit from the diary, I won't use as it isn't directly linked with the race. D.M.N. (talk) 18:34, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. "First corner accident: Morbidelli was hit by Wendlinger and retired, having stalled the engine (p.218)." - Who stalled the engine? D.M.N. (talk) 15:50, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

OK. I think I'm just about done. A lot of extra content has been added as a result. Could you have a look at the article, in case there are any minor mistakes? Oh, and....

The Original Barnstar
For providing me with the AUTOCOURSE sources to help me expand the 1995 Japanese Grand Prix article further. Thanks! D.M.N. (talk) 16:58, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
I can understand why you're not going to be "voting" as such in the FAC. As for Forti, that's OK. I'm guessing your AUTOCOURSE 1995-96 book comes very handy in that article! ;) D.M.N. (talk) 17:05, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Apologises for bugging you (again!), but does your AUTOCOURSE 1995-96 by any chance contain details on the Simtek S951 car, which raced for some of the 1995 season? Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 17:42, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Okay. ;) D.M.N. (talk) 19:41, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Another (very minor) thing. Does your AUTOCOURSE contain the attendance figure for the 1995 Japan race? Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 17:57, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
Not to worry. D.M.N. (talk) 19:04, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Brilliant. Thank you so much! D.M.N. (talk) 15:01, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Two steps forward, three steps back. The FAC unfortunately failed due to lack of supports, so I've took it back to PR. Peanut4 has made this comment:

"Mark Blundell had a disappointing qualifying." Despite the obvious explanation that follows, I still think disappointing is POV. Indeed it might even be worse than disappointing. If you can find a relevant quote I'd use that instead.

Does your AUTOCOURSE by any chance have any quotes from Blundell about his qualifying session? Thanks in advance, D.M.N. (talk) 16:23, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
OK. Not to worry, D.M.N. (talk) 19:44, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Ah, could be. There isn't a closeup of the front suspension in the article, and that looks like it could be cropped to fit the bill. Cheers. 4u1e (talk) 09:03, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Nice. To think that at one point I was despairing of getting any photos to go in that article! 4u1e (talk) 09:13, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Great

We have a new contributor too! What shall I do about LB22? I'm going to do something temporarily to his name. Chubbennaitor 16:07, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

"Stoned Radiator"

I was convinced no-one was ever going to question it! I typed it, thought "No, it looks silly" then decided to leave it :D Glad it amused you :) Bretonbanquet (talk) 21:13, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Haha, yes... I normally stay out of the modern-day race report articles, and after the fuss over this last race I may just stick to the 1960s! Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:10, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

GP2 Valencia

You could at least contribute to the discussion before reverting and potentially triggering an edit war. Then you might have seen that GP2's official website disagrees with you. The calendar on the websites front page lists the August round as "Spain". [1] --Falcadore (talk) 23:45, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Sent out on Saturday! Chubbennaitor 20:38, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey, were any of my photos other than the Onslow-Cole one useful to you? -mattbuck (Talk) 22:19, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

No problem, though it was somewhat accidental - they just happened to be wandering around. Unfortunately, my GF decided to support Jelley and then he crashed out right in front of us, and she's convinced I jinxed him. Still, a fun day. -mattbuck (Talk) 23:47, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the info you left on my page about adding the ~~ lines. I wasnt aware about that, but i have had a look at the page you gave me and it will help me in the future.

GP

I came third with fastest lap time just at my latest GP. It was sad about SA leaving Formula One. Chubbennaitor 19:26, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

I know it's sad. I liked the little team just struggling onto the end of the field. Anyway the last results aren't up yet. Chubbennaitor 16:25, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Guess what I realised that I had uploaded them 1 minute after you when I discovered you had already uploaded them in such a short amount of time. Chubbennaitor 07:16, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Bye the way could you vote for a picture? Chubbennaitor 07:18, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Lewis Hamilton

I am contacting you for your thoughts as you are one of the principal contributors to this article. As you may or may not know, it has been nominated by PheonixRMB as a featured article candidate. The FAC is not going too well, with the current consensus being that the nomination is premature and that much work needs to done to get it up to the requisite standard. I would be grateful if you would express an opinion on the article's FAC candidacy page. As FAC is currently desperately short of reviewers, withdrawing the article – and thus saving reviewer time and effort – would be one option. Thanks for your time, --ROGER DAVIES talk 16:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

No action now needed as PheonixRMB has withdrawn the nomination. All the best, --ROGER DAVIES talk 16:51, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Flickr

Oh no! They're the from the same people. Some of them I was wary about but others I was pretty sure a normal person could have done them. Delete them I don't actually care. Chubbennaitor 07:32, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

I know it is frustrating when that happens. Because you aren't sure when you get it off a place like Flickr. What about the other photos uploaded. I discovered that no-oe had uploaded a whole beautiful set from Flickr for the 2007 Monaco GP. Only one from the set was uploaded I uploaded a few others. Then there's the old car race at Monaco. Most of those are out in the blue. I didn't know they were from that set (the images u were on about) because when you showed it it was all Ferrari not the images I saw. Anyway There are some great pics if you type in '2008 Grand Prix Formula One' and ou get quite a few good images along with the advanced search. Chubbennaitor 07:41, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Goodyear logo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Goodyear logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:21, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

I need everyone to edit and add and review because I'm not here. It will need to be done otherwise it isn't going out. Chubbennaitor 20:13, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Question

Hi Diniz. You said here you would be back at home from Uni at the end of June. Has this changed at all since we last spoke? Just quering. Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 13:00, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

OK. I just need you to look some things up in the Autocourse 1995 book. It's not desperate. I'll leave a message in about two weeks when you've settled back down at home. Regards, D.M.N. (talk) 14:41, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Right first bit. Does your Autocourse have a bit for "Standings After Each Race" in this case, does it provide the standings for after the Japan race. It should have the points something like this. If it does, can you provide me the page number for the standings after the race. Thanks! D.M.N. (talk) 13:34, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. That's got rid of all ChicaneF1 references from the article which were concerned reliable. Does your Autocourse contain quotes from Schumacher & Hill after the race? Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 14:08, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Yet again a big, big thank you. Re: Frank Williams; could you possible quote what he says from the annual. I think it could help the Post-race section by having something like "Frank Williams echoed Hill's feeling by......." D.M.N. (talk) 19:13, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Ah, in fact I won't add that as it's before the article. Having just looked at Damon Hill's article, I'm quite surprised that's actually a FA as it seems to lack references and detail in some areas. Anyway, back to topic, the MotorSport thing with Hill, did they actually have an interview with Hill, or are they just looking back picking at quotes? D.M.N. (talk) 19:28, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
OK. D.M.N. (talk) 19:38, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Reassessing articles to C-Class

Hi Diniz. When you've finished grading articles to C-Class, do you want me to manually run the 1.0 bot so that the assessment scale on the WP:F1 page is updated fully? Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 14:17, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

BT42/44

Hi Diniz. It's certainly BT44 bodywork, but if I'm remembering rightly, some BT42's were fitted with BT44 bodywork at some point, so it could still be a 42. I'll check to see if I'm remembering that rightly and whether there's any way of differentiating between a 44 and 42 wearing 44 bodywork. Cheers. 4u1e (talk) 07:10, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
